I can't stop playing Skyrim!

Post » Mon Jul 30, 2012 10:30 pm

A few weeks ago I was ready to abandon Skyrim after almost eight full months of playing it. I was having some issues with the framerate and some weird glitches with a couple of side quests and was thinking it was time to move on to something else. I then finished Dawnguard as one of the vampire hunters, and I have to say the conclusion to the DLC was wonderful. It was definitely a lot of fun and very immersive.

I then switched to playing the XBLA version of Minecraft, which is a great game, and finally spent a few hours playing the latest Penny Arcade game on the Xbox. All enjoyable, but I was missing Skyrim. So I started a new character, an ugly male High Elf that I plan to turn into a Vampire Lord when he finally makes it to Dawnguard. Right now he is using Sparks and Flames to kill critters and other enemies as he makes making his way from Helgen to Winterhold so he can join the college there.

I've played through Skyrim as a mage before but I have to say I'm really enjoying it again. I plan on turning my character into a necromancer; Serana was a wonderful one and I want to have a similar build. He's already fun to play as a I use a mix of magic, stealth, and alchemy, and he's only level 3 so far.

Anyway, I can't stop playing Skyrim. I will buy both Dishonored and XCOM: Enemy Unknown the day they release and play the check out of them on my Xbox, pushing Skyrim aside for a couple of months, but I'll likely come back to it once I've tired of those games. Even more so than Oblivion and Fallout 3 I think I'll be playing it for years and years...

This is why I love the TES games. Deceptively replayable.

Seconded. I just can't seem to lose the will to play. And that's pretty great.

Ditto. I have a couple other games I have bought, they all still have the plastic on them. I've been playing since release and everytime one of my characters has done what he/she set out to do, I either find them something else to do or roll another character that I has something they need to do.

I haven't felt like playing any other game since skyrim came out. My 2nd plathrough was even more fun than my first, and that's rare for a game.

I agree, i'm on the 2,000 hour mark and every time I try to play a different game I always miss playing. There's no way I can stop playing a TES game since I always come right back.

Bethesda makes the kind of games that when you play it after # of months it still is as good as when you first played it.
Especially when you have a character you thoroughly enjoy to play.

I always end up back to chilled harsh landscape of Skyrim, the wild wild west of the Mojave Wasteland or the overrun ruins of the Capital Wasteland.

I am a bit obsessed with gaming in general. I'm an RPG nut. Love most kinds of RPGs. TES are the ones that I always come back to.

Sorry for the bad grammar... Anxiety attack has stricken me. >_>

You certainly haven't played the PC version of Skyrim with all the mods. I can't seem to get off it! Then again, I seem to be sorting out glitches on mods (glitches with hairs on!) more than I seem to play the game itself! lol But once you get the mods working right they make the game fifty times better than the vanilla game ever was! And you should see the graphics! Scenery looks much more realistic, as do the humans! Where was once a pretty fugly woman is now a beautiful young lady!

It makes Skyrim 2.0

Profile pic's helm is boss. Reminds me of Lagate Lanias's helm with Skyrim Nordic detailing.

Each to their own consoles my friend. If my t.v. was HD the graphics would probably be super stunning.

My "obsession" or perhaps just obsession is in phases. Since Toonami is on advlt Swim and I got into the show The Boondocks, though, the obsession has been lessened. That's a good thing in my case. I could be playing a TES game with such intense focus that I wouldn't notice something nearby on fire. I get obsessed with stuff very easily.

My obsession with Skyrim came to a point where I consider it more important than living , Lol !
I already gave up my social life ( not like I had one , I don't care about it at all ).
I have SOME contact with my friends , only "Hey".
Well I do work for the emergency things ( Ambulance )..
