Can you actually find Mr. New Vegas in-game?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 6:51 pm

Simple enough question. Supposedly Mr. New Vegas is an AI programmed by House, so he must exist as a ZAX (or similar supercomputer) or a robot or something. However, as near as I can tell, Radio New Vegas isn't actually a location anywhere in the Mojave.

I've been all over the Lucky 38, the Strip and even the outlying areas of New Vegas, but I can't find the radio station anywhere. Black Mountain radio exists as an actual place, so it stands to reason Radio NV does too.

Have I just missed it, or is it not actually in the game?

Good question, I've never met the guy. Probably because of this little snip from http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mr._New_Vegas.
"Mr. New Vegas is an AI, programmed by Mr. House centuries earlier to be the DJ of Radio New Vegas, a job he still performs in 2281. He "appears" in the game only as a disembodied voice on the radio. "

Yeah, I saw that page, but it's barely been touched since New Vegas was released (pretty sure the only edits have been grammar/spelling corrections), so I was kinda hoping he was in the game. :(

He's an AI. You aren't going to be able to find him. Of course that just makes the female admirers of his a little creepy. I know they don't know he's a computer program, but still...

I think he's sort of like the named securitrons, his personality is backed on Mr. Houses main network and is broadcast from somewhere, maybe that antenae on the Lucky 38? That COULD explain RNVs massive broadcast range.

Nope, the only In-Game character who is unkillable is

Spoiler
Yes Man

Which completely nerfs realism, along with a few other things, to me.

But you can kill him, he just comes back as another one. (at least that's what I heard, I never tried to kill him.)
But Mr New Vegas can't be killed what so ever since one cannot find him. ;)

Spoiler
How does it nerf realism? he's a robot and Victor can jump to different Securitrons so why not Yes Man? and more importantly how many players would be &)*&%)*@ here every day that they made it impossible to beat the game because they killed all the major faction leaders.

Spoiler
But then one has to wonder how he magically pops into a securitron and get that giant hulky body past everyone in The Tops unnoticed, takes the elevator to the 13th floor and sneak into bennys room past the two Chairman.

Spoiler
Why must it be unnoticed? people don't *(&*&)*@$ with Houses Securitrons and I recall he waits outside the Tops once you've dealt with Benny.

Well, you have a point, but by contract, Securitrons are only permitted in a casino by Family invitation or if a crime is reported. So the Chairmen would likely be alarmed to a hulking Securitron lugging through the casino.
