Can you make scrambled eggs with skim milk?

Post » Sun Jun 02, 2013 5:26 am

I am starving and there is very little food in the house. I really want scrambled eggs but I'm missing full cream milk.

However there is skim milk, will this act as a substitute?

I don't like skim milk at all but I'm starving and I'm hoping it won't taste as bad.

technically you don't need any milk to make scrambled eggs... just beaten eggs... that being said I usually make my scrambled eggs with a splash of skim milk (only milk we have) and some cheese. so you won't die if you go that direction...

Who makes scrambled eggs with milk? I guess it's a variation I've never heard of. I just use straight up eggs, salt, garlic powder, pepper, parsley, and let it cook to crispiness on the outside and softness on the inside then mix it up.

No milk required, and the world keeps spinning.

Of course you can make scrambled eggs without milk! I never use it myself, because milk is evil.

But almond milk is a gift of the gods or lack thereof. I never liked the thickness and flavor of cow milk, and soy milk feels like it has dirt in it unless it's chocolate soy milk, so once I could afford almond milk I felt like I had ascended or something.

And I was going to try to be clever and link the OP to an exploding egg in the microwave video, but they're too long for even me to watch, since you have to sit through some kid giggling like an idiot and saying "dude" over and over again before sticking the egg in the microwave.

This sounds like one of those last diary entries of a dying accidental prisoner. Are things alright around there? Do you have access to other supplies you can buy or bargain?

I recommend you boil the eggs and drink the milk directly instead, even if you don't fancy it, you shouldn't waste precious nutrients away on the frying pan.

Wait, you put milk in your eggs, and then you put them in the microwave? Heresy has reached a new level!

Hmm, I'll have to try that out sometime. I mostly just avoid milk in general.

I got back on almost two years since my last login and it was exactly as I had left it.

Well you cook it on the stove.

Personally I add milk to my eggs. It makes them fluffy. When you pour your egg mixture into the pan let it sit until bubbles start to come up in the center and then use a spatula and slowly push the eggs from one end to another until they are a shiny texture. Then turn off the heat and let the eggs finish cooking in the center of the pan. Perfect scrambled eggs.

You put the eggs in a frying pan, and then put it in the microwave, duh.

...put butter in skillet, apply heat. scrable eggs in bowl, add seasonings. Put eggs in mid heat skillet and stir eggs so as they don't stick. When eggs become cooked thoroughly you apply hout sauce and put them in your mouth.

Actually just watch it on youtube if you need more direction

Yes, you can make scrambled eggs with skim milk. That isn't restricted to Australia. You can also make them with a little water.
