Catching butterflies : V - Skyrim

I've been completely flabbergasted recently. I used to be able to catch butterflies and they would be placed into a jar for me to put on display in my house. Now when i catch them, i only get two wings for alchemical ingredients. What stupid thing am i doing wrong/forgetting?

the jars are, for now, an easter egg. it s related to the weynon stone (doomsday stone)

Maybe some day they will implement a way to collect them, but not now.

I wish I could put some of those small fish in a small fishtank also. Some of them are pretty colorful.

you could grab dead slaughters and decorate, i guess.

probably the same with stuff in jars, etc. you need to grab and not harvest it and put it somewhere.

Easy way to catch butterflies is to use a shout. Handy in groups and funny to see them pause for a second and *thud* *thud* *thud* to the ground.

Sad part is I only found this out like a week ago (ive been playing since release) after I saw my boyfriend shoot one with an arrow ( I told him he was full of it and demanded he show me lol). Another one of those little quirky surprises I love about these games. im sure you can use it on other bugs as well.....though im not sure with hawks they are awfully high up, but arrows work on those too

Now THAT'S what I call archery practice... I'll have to do this when I make an archer... Going to be a while before I get around to it though...

You can put butterflies in jars if you use a certain mod which I forgot it's name. Have you been sleep-playing? :banana:

It's part of a free quest called Captured Critters.. like the treasure maps there are no quest markers or quest updates.. You can hunt them down for the sake of hunting them but will get no reward from doing so other than the satisfaction of being able to set a bunch of bugs in jars on a shelf in one of your houses..

I also discoverd that you can kill bugs with all your weapons. Nothing makes you feel more superior than shooting a butterfly out of the air with an arrow.

I know about the jars (only got 3) but i didn't know about them putting in jars... i think it was a joke. Nice screenie :goodjob:
