My child's pet fox has asthma

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 1:49 am

I think it is great that my characters daughter got herself a pet fox.. but the damn thing sounds like it it needs a respirator. It creeps me out when I'm walking around my house and all of a sudden I can hear it behind me wheezing..
Has anyone else experienced the darth vader fox?

That huffing sound has always been foxes' regular outdoor noise, no reason why they shouldn't do it indoors too.

They do tend to have a loud breathing sound. Even when resting. I guess it helps to find them out in the woods, since they lead you to stuff.

When Lucia found that fox, I told her to get rid of it immediately. I don't need fleas and worms festering in my house full of furs lying about.

But I did love seeing the option. It was so unexpected.

Now, if she brings home a saber cat, then we'll keep it. Cats > dogs.

Foxes aren't dogs.

They're considered canids, but they're a seperate tribe of them from dogs/wolves/coyotes. They cannot interbreed with any of the three.

And while I like both cats and dogs, I would prefer the fox. They, at least, don't usually try to kill me. Those saber cats seem to think I'm a walking take-out dinner.

I misread "asthma" as "autism" at first and was all "WTF!?" for a little bit.

That svcks about the foxes being noisy. I wanted to get one as a pet.

:( My kid keeps on bringing home a damn Skeever... [censored] it i said no to Skeevers!

At least it's not as silly as the Cow's noise, it's tail flick/chewing sounds like a Giant is approaching, and when it moves it's hooves sounds like a mini earthquake.

That fox breathing sound scares the crap out of me, especially since it's the same noise wolves make. Since my game is glitched and I can't hear wolves howling before they attack, I always freak out when I hear the panting, looking around wildly for an attacking wolf pack.

Yes, the fox is autistic. It's easy to startle, hates hugs, and has really crappy people skills.

(NOTE - I'm autistic myself. So obviously, no offense intended to autistic people)

Whatever noise the foxes make, it cannot be more annoying than the bloody mubcrabs. I had to reload a previous save because I stupidly told Samuel he could keep the little bugger.

It's not that bad, it's just a bit weird when he's nearby. I watched it when my daughter was asleep and it was doing that all night next to her bed. A tad creepy.

It's still better than a freakin mudcrab or whatever the alternatives are.

it's a myth I firmly believe in. I stopped killing foxes once I realized they were acting as my furry little wilderness guides.

I tried following and repeatedly got led into ambushes. That's a fox for you!

I always hunt foxes...their pelt only weighs .5 and they give one leather per each piece. And you can find them everywhere...well before I killed them all anyway.

I posted that exact same thing in that thread about John Goodman's wife.
