Classic Car Thread

What does Europe know about classic cars?!

Classic cars are about who can have the least miles per gallon, American muscle all day!
Apparently who can turn the least corners perfectly too

Right.. lets start off with something no-one can afford here.. not even Todd.

That is a nice car, even to someone as young and cool as me B)

The '93 was actually the Grand Charokee with wood paneling, really, and those were only for the one year. They stopped making the "true" Wagoneers in '91. And even so, mine is an '87.

And yes, we did. That's an old picture though, it no longer sits in that spot.

It's actually 25 years for it to become QQ qualified so 2012 yours will be qualified for QQ status. so then I stand corrected, your Wagoneer counts.

I don't know much about classic cars, but I'd murder for an Aston Martin DB5 - http://www.astonmartins.com/db4_5_6_s/images/am010615.jpg

Fun fact - I went to school in the hometown of Aston Martin.

I would love to have a '93 Porsche Carrera 964 Turbo. <3

[edit] Just found out "classic car" is actually legally defined as more than 20 years old. I thought it just meant classic, as in iconic or whatever. Still, a Carrera is a [censored] classic.

I have a love for Corvettes and their history. The http://americke-vozy.wz.cz/Obrazky/Chevrolet%20Corvette%201968%20Stingray.jpg, is my favorite classic design .
One of my favorites as well.
Also the '69 Camero, which one of my friends actually owned in mint condition and then someone torched it :( such a waste. And the '69 shelby.
I've always been partial to firebirds too.

For everything else I'll stand next to Aquan, grin like mad and nod a-lot, while drooling over Dr. Stangelove's car.

I hate you Doc.

haha Yeah, well it wasn't easy getting it in the condition it now rests in. I hated myself too, all throughout that time, wondering if it was really worth the time and energy I was putting into it, just to drive it around for fun. When I was finished, I no longer hated myself after being behind the wheel and really testing out the old engine on I-5, and seeing the raw power it created. Luckily it wasn't just me alone, who worked on it, or my girlfriend would have really been annoyed with how much money and time I was putting into it.

When you stop off in California next, I'll pick you up in it. :D Just don't bring a lot of luggage, there's not enough "rear seat".

I have honestly never seen one of those. It's remarkable resemblence to a VW Beetle caused me to do research, and Yup...inspired by the rear-engined Beetle.
Curious as to what year yours was?

'75.. for the most part. Some parts were '74.., '71 even.. the steering wheel was from a volvo, dunno how that got in there.. I named it Herman, as in Mr. Munster
I always thought they had a remarkable resemblance to a potato.
spudmobile was my first choice for a name, but Herman felt better.
I feel bad for you.
But I like zippy cars! Besides, with gas at seven euro's a gallon big cars aren't for poor people, like me :nope:

All it needs is a body kit, spoilers and wide rims... and it would be even uglier!

Dunno if that counts - I truly know nothing about cars - but since I was a kid, always had a crush on the Citro?n DS. Car repairer next to my house had one, always stopped to look at it.

Not an automobile or a motorcar for that matter, but I believe it counts as a classic.

I rode in the Fiat with my knees in my face, and that was with the seats all the way to the back. But the ability to park in a mailbox came in handy :)

Andy, that Fiat could be hacked down and made into a 3-wheeler so the knees could be in the breeze instead...like they do with VW's.

For European vintage, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aston_Martin_DB_Mark_III for a sporty look.

For basic driving, I'd loved to have had a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studebaker_Champion#Third_Generation.

Sorry, I'm just not terribly into cars. Motorcycles on the other hand.

http://thekneeslider.com/images/2010/04/1939-brough-superior-ss100.jpg are the ultimate "can-not-have" bikes I think, which is sad because they embody just about everything I like in machines. In a time when it was rare for even the most powerful cars to reach 100mph, the SS100's were guaranteed to be able to go that fast.

*sigh* $250,000 is what most of them seem to start at now days.

If it just HAS to have four wheels though, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Sports_800 is nice.

I own one of http://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/1954_Austin_Healey_100_4_Roadster_Front_1.jpg but unfortunately it is in undrivable condition and my family and I cannot afford to repair it.

I own a '69 Mustang Mach 1, with it's original 351 Windsor V8 in it. Whole things looks brand new since I cleaned it up, and runs pretty damn well. I don't drive it too often, as it's more of a hobby car than anything to me, but when I do, you can tell I'm coming from two blocks away, and it sure as hell picks up quick and nice.

Lucky >.<

The '69 was the last true mustang in my opinion. There was a '72 with a 351 Cleveland for sale down the road from my house, but I despise the '70's mustangs.

My God that's a beautiful car.

And nice! I love the little Fiats

Always thought they were a cool little car like the old Mini's.

Mm classic cars. There are a few I wouldn't mind having.

Shelby Cobra 427 S/C
1969 Camaro SS
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_250_GTO

I'm a die hard Ferrari fan, and that is one of my absolute favorites right there. Love that car.

One of my favorites as well.

Ehh I didn't really like the '69 Shelby Mustang. It was getting too into that '70's body style for me. I think the '67 Shelby GT500 was the best Shelby ever made. That 428ci Cobra Jet engine was a monster.

http://www.super-fond.fr/IMAGES_VOITURES/bugatti/Bugatti-Royale-Type-41.jpg

Whoa, I'm speechless.

I used to ride motocross bikes for a while until I had a rather nasty accident that ended in a $5000 emergency room trip. I'd really like to have an old http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/37/Triumph_Tiger_100.jpg. There's just something about modern motorcycles that really turns me off. It's mostly the bulk. I like the smaller more nimble older bikes much better. However I've never seen a Harley that I've liked until I saw that one. Very nice bike man.
