Clothing. Why?

RP...realism in a world where it wuld be stupid if everyone wore armor...non-broad classes like Bard, Trickster, or Merchant that dont feel right wearing armor

Also they are enchantable, benefit from the Mage Armor perk, and are cheaper than armor and robes

Seriously. Aside from one (that I know of) quest where you have to ware clothes to fit in - I see NO reason for them. I haven't tried enchanting clothes (can you?) - so why? why clothes? what do you do with clothes? (obv ware them - do you have multiple outfits? special occasion....)

as a mage I ware nothing but robes and thamor based gear (I love them)

But why clothes?

armor is better....

thoughts?
my barbarian wears clothes because he's too badass to need armor...i wear ragged trousers, boots, a talos amulet and a skyforge steel battleaxe on my back

Clothing and Robes is All I wear, stop trying to simplify this game! D:

and yes, the Radiant Raiment is one of my most often visited stores, and in Oblivion it was Divine Elegance (Both are Clothing stores)

I'm still waiting for the to discover the ability of wearing clothing under armor. It seems to be forgotten culture.

Clothing is there for those who want to use them. May as well just get rid of the mill log stuff if it has nothing to do with the combat or quests. Oh, and let's get rid of doors, too. Because only useful doors are the ones that go into interior cells.

Because it would be stupid if every child was running around fully clad in heavy armour?

So that the civiliians who are the majority of city npcs have something to wear? And yes, you can enchant them. Robes are clothing.

This. All the clothing and brooms and cups and whatnot are useless, but making them obtainable items makes skyrim feel much more realistic.
