Collections of... Junk?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 9:48 am

I don't know about you guys, but I have some pretty big hoarding habits in FO3. I had a weakness fr pre war money, which made a money mountain in the spare bedroom in Megatons shack. Nuka cola trucks by the dozen, and teddy bears lol. Any skill books I didnt need are piled on shelves.

So, are any of you planning on any hoarding in New Vegas?

I know I am :-)

Depends on the Junk. In FO3 the only junk I pick up are things I think would look good in my place. Some characters I like to collect booze to me it's junk because it has no effect.

With hardcoe Mode in New Vegas I will not have room to carry junk that has no use or does not look cool. If it's cool and I think it would look good in my place then I will pick it up. I will not even booze, unless this time around it has an effect.

Pool balls... if they're in the game anyhow... I wanted to make a full set originally, but when I realized that you can't, I settled for just dumping EVERY pool ball I could find onto the floor of my house.... They bounce and clatter all over the place everytime I enter and walk around. I spend a lot of time arranging unique outfits so they are visible on the shelves, hats and masks, and every pair of eyeglasses I could find went in a pile on my desk

I like to set uniques or cool looking stuff out. Or trophies. Junk gets a shelf or place depending on what it is or how it looks.

Vault 21 has a pool table. So they may very likely have pool balls around the Mojave. :)

If it's in the game, I'll be collecting Pre-War Money, and unusual misc items. In F3 I'd nab metro tickets, pass cards, pre-war money, flour, and things of that sort.

Yes! :fallout:

Pre-war money was a big one... a skull which I placed on my desk... the Lincoln doll stood in a corner. Not junk stuff really, but I collected a lot of stuff. Pencils. The list goes on! So I'll definitely continue my habits in NV. Hopefully we get storage early on!

I did pretty much the same thing with pre-war money lol :celebration:

But to answer the question...
Hell yeah!! Haha
I hoarded everything i could in fallout 3.

But in Morrowind i was an item god, i literally had EVERYTHING in the game in my house's, my outpost had 3 overflow loot bags and stuff arranged all over my main building including crates/barrels utilized to organize certain items such as unique or crafting items, my character was also lvl 115 on xbox =D lol. I spent ALOT of time on that game.

Teddy bears

Seriously, they're so cute, I can't bear (pun not intended) to leave them behind. On Christmas Eve, I take some out of my collection and plant them in the houses of kids. Wasteland Santa, oh yeah!

I forgot Garden Gnomes. I had a whole bunch placed around my house. They all looked at you as you walked in. Really creepy. Thought they all wanted to sell me vacations (Travelocity).

I put all my workbench items in the tub at tenpenny, and I will be hoarding. I always have a crapton of stuff because I pick up anything that can be sold. I am playing oblivion and I'm constantly stealing. I love stuff

I tend to collect random stuff all the time. Pre war money was a big one for me. I would toss holo tapes about the place, and interesting things from the game I would put on the desk.

I just hope the physics is toned down in our houses so things are easier to place.

I only collected stuff that looked like useful clutter in my house. Example, pots, pans, plates, toasters, so on. Love my clutter.

Never mind the modded in hole-under-my-floor where I stashed gore parts.

I decorated my house with various junk like pots, pans glasses, toasters, nuka cola trucks, etc. The rest I split into separate containers, craftable junk and junk with high trade-in value. Sometimes I'd hoard low value junk as well like bent cans and empty bottles, but eventually I would just trade those off for food and meds. =p

Armor, Weapons and Npcs for me :D I went around keeping all the good armor and weapons. That coupled with my repair skill, I had one powerful arsenal fit for an army! Then I collected all the wastelanders, hunters, beggars even had an enclave soldier who helped me get out of president Edens fortress lol. I outfitted my army with my loot and now I have the largest and most powerful army in the waste! One thing I miss collecting is lamps and lights form morrowind, they actually had there own light source and lit up the room.

Enclave deserter.
