coming on 2012 right?

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 4:09 am

I know I know, but is that really confirmed?I highly a doubt a game this big will make the schedule.

The last thing I want is delays that push it to 2013.Same was with brink, and it really pissed me off.

It seems like it was pretty deep in development by the time it was announced, so I think 2012 is a fair bet. But you never know, disasters can always happen. I HOPE it comes out in 2012, but I'd rather they delay it than release a sub-par product if it comes down to it.

I hope they take their sweet time with it.
I feel like Skyrim was hurt with the 11-11-11 date.

Anyways, some websites say Dishonered will be released Q2 2012, although thats not a final or certified date.

Believe me, we do our best to release the game in 2012, even if we can't tell when yet. ;)

In my country (Italy), an important web magazine of videogames write that Dishonored will be released on 15 march 2012... It's not true, right?

There are any news about Dishonored Collector's Edition?

I believe retailers sometimes use placeholder dates, so I would wait for the official announcement.

When the release date is announced, it will definitely be posted here as well as on the Bethblog.

It's really cool that the devs come and answer our questions. I appreciate that in a community.

I've been checking this out and it seems like a good game. Just wish I could know the release date that way I could pre-order...

That's correct. Once we have the official 2012 release, we'll let everyone know.

We can't wait to share more details on the game.

just noticed it disappeared from the upcomming games list on gamespot and IGN
This can only be good I think, maybe preorders came in, and more work can be done on the game :D
Make it flawless please ! Just hope this delay doesn't cause bankruptcy :(
But I think its better to go out with a bang, than lie to yourself that this was needed for future attempts
Best wishes

Since it's now the 5th of March, and there's yet to be advertising or new articles about it, I really doubt it.

This is my most anticipated game of the year.

I read about it last year and was really excited. Totally forgot about it until another forumite reminded me today. And lo, behold, Beth's publishing it!

Uh, that was a long and not-really-clear way of me saying: mine, too!

While I would love to see this game in 2012, I really hope they take the time they need instead of ttrying to meet an arbitrary date.

This game has a lot of potential.

Like someone previously said there are a lot of big name games coming this year and I honestly doubt Dishonored will have the weight to push them aside.
Rather what I think is that this ame will be something of a sleeper hit. Probably a slow start but with a steadily growing following, supported by reviews and the kind of "best low-profile games of" lists.. you know the kind I'm talking about.

But that's based on a really high quality game being put out, and that means taking the time needed to finish it.

Not for nothing but in my experience Bethesda as a publisher has a tendency to push developers to get games out sonner rather than later...

I really, really hope they've learned their lesson with all of their out-of-house publishing near-misses. :ermm:

Hey stop that! it will smash everything!
1. multiplatform
2. published by bethesda
3. we are in modern times, there is plenty more gamers now.
4. a hype train will build, you wait, and ill be near the front.

If the game shares the awesome LGS design like Arx did, (unparalelled) but then devs makes a "simplified/easy" mode that streamlines everything making it like any other "AAA" game, then everyone will be happy, and maybe after people play the simplified mode they might try the real mode and WAKE THE [censored] UP!
That is my theory

Also the game looks like it has good graphics, it will sell like hot cakes, chill.

Oh please no, not an easy mode.. that is a pure oneway lane to utter crap...

Don't get me wrong I'm hoping for total success because I truly believe this game will deserve it..

Why? If they design the game to be an awesome experience like the classics, then spend a little extra time once they are done adding a simplified mode-
actually another way is to not have a simplified mode but instead have all things hardcoe toggleable options in the menu but have them off by defualt. for example objective markers, pause time in inventory, no simplified skills and attributes/auto distribution of skills and attributes, no extra checkpoints, no highlighting of quest items, hints and so on. that is just an example but if all that is off by defualt then a newcomer/newb wont have any trouble and us hardcoes get it all.

I dont know but I want these type of games to finally be recognised by the masses as the greatest, and if there is an easy mode that helps them get into the game then all is well. also it will help sales by "appealing to a wider audience", whilst still keeping the true classic superior design. if only they done that with deus ex: invisible war, bioshock and more then I would be happy. Big 3D Games cost alot more (at least 7x more it seems) to develop than they did 10 years ago so that is why developers always try to appeal to a larger audience and we get souless games.
This is the only work around I can think of but it requires extra effort from the devs. Who knows what they have planned. But two modern games I consider hardcoe, dark souls & fallout: New vegas, sold extremely well and they did not have simplified modes(but FO:NV did have a few hand holders), and whats more dark souls is console only!

Two days ago, an important italian web magazine of videogame post a special about Dishonored and they went in the Arkane Studios in Lione. Few months ago this magazine told that the release data will be 15 march. Now they changed the release data and this is the second quarter of 2012... between april - june 2012, possible?
