"Your attacks, Shouts and destruction spells do no damage to your followers"

Bethesda, you do listen to your fans <3

Now I can finally start using a follower without having to worry about killing them.

Well that's disappointing.

Much of the challenge in using followers is the change in tactics needed to keep them alive.

It not forced on you. It's just an option.

I'm not sure it's working. My follower is still taking damage. I've doubled checked that it's the option i've selected.

Is it working for everyone else?

Also, Tlantl, it's optional. You don't need to take it, so you're jumping the gun for nothing.

What is this, a new spell? Or a shout? Or a new perk?

Ahh so that's how they work, they give free perks unrelated to existing skill trees.

I like. There are 5 of them, right? Once you get the book can you turn them on and off at will?

If they're all like the first one I found, then there is 5 of them with 3 choices available.

Just saw the above post, lol.

I think there's more that 5. I do know you can keep going back in them. There is a chest in them that can be used as a temp storage container or a Backpack, if you will.

Doesn't seem like it, I just shouted kharjo off of a bridge while he was in combat with someone else. He was ok, but he still went flying. Idk. My axe damaged him. I hope it starts working because the companion option is infinitely more useful to me than the other two options in that book.

There are. I found 7 of them.

Awesome. So there's at least 7 black books, each of which offers a choice from 3 bonus perks. I take it each book has 3 different choices? So in that case there are 21 perks total, and you pick 7 of them?

That's awesome. Especially if they're all as useful as Companion's Insight.

2 of them are related to the main quest
