Complete marriage list

Yes Bethesda did the job but not very well. I'd prefer it done better than it done poorly.

I have my doubts we could have a complete list in only three days we could probably fill a book on things the offical guidebook missed or got wrong.

Hopefully this is not the complete list, but Pete Hines did confirm that not all races are represented in the marriage options, which in my honest opinion svcks. I mean, really!? If I decide to have my character (who is male) to marry same-race, my only options are one female and two male NPC's? And what about fans of Khajiit, Wood Elves, High Elves, and Redguards? None of these races are properly represented in the marriage options.

Yes that's true. Sigh seems they can't get much right in the first try can they?

I'm disappointed you can't marry the beautiful barmaids in this game. Why Bethesda?!?!

What exactly is the purpose of marriage anyways?

Tack-on to 'compete' with Fable and BioWare is my best guess.

In-game, it can provide you with a place (or another one) to live. If you sleep with your companion nearby, you get Lover's Comfort, a 15% skills gain for 8 hours buff, a ring with a 10% less mana cost to Restoration buff, homecooked meals, and if they move into your place, they'll 'open' a shop- you can purchase from them (from all the equipment you gave them before T_T), and 100 gold profit every day from said shop.

My married companion is glitched into perma-block mode, so YMMV on how useful it is.

Can you marry anyone on that list regardless of what gender or race you are?

Damn, I had hoped on Sussanna the wicked (the barmaid in Windheim), easily one of the nicest looking girls in skyrim, but then...yeah... last time I saw her she didnt seem to....feel so good. :/

I think what Spindle means by "that's all" is that only about eight of the ten races are actually represented, with no Khajiit or Wood Elf NPC's to marry. At least my character has at least one option in terms of same race, but not quite enough. There is also always the option of trans-racial (and even trans-species) relationships, though, but marriage would definitely be a bit awkward in the case of the Khajiit. Perhaps this is an issue that might get resolved as part of the "improve the game while keeping it substantial" DLC expansions they've been talking about.

Edit: Just noticed you can't marry a male Redguard or a male High Elf either. There doesn't seem to be any races listed under "Male" that aren't present under "Female," however.

If the male Khajiit anatomy is close enough to RL felines, at least the ladies can safely say the feeling in bed is nothing the men of there races can duplicate

What do you mean that's all? Thats a [censored] ton of people and I doubt I will ever marry all of them.

You can't even marry every race. This is disappointing.

A little but its a minor problem, there is still a [censored] ton of people to marry. Location wise it makes sense as Skyrim isn't suppose to be all that diverse.

You have to join and complete a bunch of Companion quests in order to marry Aela. I hadn't done any of the companion quests and approached her with the amulet on and there were no options to talk about marriage.

I thought I read you can marry her (the Dunmer priestess of the Azura shrine); or maybe she can only be a companion for battles. Can anyone confirm this?

And yet they couldn't fit in a couple more argonians, or ANY Khajiit or Bosmer at ALL?

I'm not one for Khajiit or Bosmer myself but I still find this silly.

Yea that is my only gripe about it, one of every race and gender should of been included. It does make some sense but for the sake of immersion they should of added them.

Dead Lydia is creepy,..... I reloaded. Is this a bug that happens every time? It's going to make my future mother-in-law mad. :(

Yeah, this. I'm okay with the number available, but I definitely would have liked at least one of every race.

I have nothing wrong with the number (62 is fine), my only concern is with the diversity. From most to least numerous the numbers are:

29 Nords

9 Imperials

8 Dunmer

6 Bretons

5 Orcs

3 Argonians

1 Redguard

1 Altmer

0 Bosmer

0 Khajiit

I can understand the majority being Nords, and there are Lore reasons for the higher numbers of Orcs and Dark Elves, but I have no idea why there are so many Imperials and Bretons, and they could at least have one of each race/gender combination.
More might be added in future DLC though, so I will wait and see.

To those people saying it is not the final list: It came from the Prima guide, and it has been 100% correct on every NPC I have tried so far, save for Lydia, who is supposedly glitched.

I think the number for Imperials is ok, as Skyrim is a part of the Empire and some Imperials would feel like living somewhere new.

I agree the Breton number seems high. I don't know of a good reason for them to be there either, other than traditionally Breton females were the cutest. Unfortunately more Skyrim women look like old hags.

Here should have been at least one of each race I agree. I guess they figure the only Khajitts and Bosmers in Skyrim are those that are traders or hunters, not settlers.
