Convince me to be a redguard

Post » Wed Nov 20, 2013 9:50 pm

It would take a lot of convincing for me as well OP. I have not interest in being a stinking Redguard. Not that I would really want to play an Orc or a Breton either. I'd probably settle for a Breton and have at it. I can't play an Imperial so Breton it is for me.

Pretty sure orcs are stinkier. Also pretty sure there's something stinky going on in Altmer's brains after being alive for so long. Argonians and wet Khajiits left out in the rain should be self explanatory. Dunmer are pretty dusty ash dwellers, wood elves smell of elderberries, nords smell of mead, cattle, and giant's toe. I would rank Redguard as the second least stinky playable race.

Nope... they are right there with all the Lizards, Cats, Inbred Frostbacks, and any of the Knife Ears.

You can't have TES without it. Racism is prevalent throughout Tamriel. It always been that way and it's not going to change. Even in this alliance mess. You honestly think that different areas are not racially profiling everyone within their territory?

When did I say racism in TES shouldn't exist? I agree with you. My dunmer looks down on all of you, and I look forward to collecting many khajiit and argonian slaves in my telvanni tower. (no kitties were harmed in the acquisition of my slaves).

Wars can't exist without racism, or else everyone fighting are all saints, which seems a bit contradicting if you ask me.

Then why did you resort to name calling to start with?

...nvmd. I guess I was reading into that wrong. It's getting late for me. :dead:

You're right, pretty much every race is equal so you can't go wrong with any except for Bretons.

Damn, Bretons are icky.

I didn't hit the 'd' hard enough (sloppy typist) ;_: curse my inability to change thread titles.

You know you can report the post and ask a mod to fix the typo, right?

If you like Nord, it's worth pointing out that Redguard have a similar warrior-culture and mythology. In their belief, Satakal destroys the world time and time again, much like Alduin, although the two are not just two names for the same being. However, the huge difference is that they don't side with Lorkhan/Shor in the creation of the world as the Nord do, and rather see it as an obstacle to survive Satakal's destruction. It's an interesting transition between Elven and Human beliefs.

They also have a strong connection to their province, much like Skyrim and the Nord.

:D I see what you did there. But icky? Ok.

Personally, I think they are all... icky. Especially those Gods forsaken cats ( worthless flea ridden Skooma junkies ). With the exception of Imperials ( politically correct - Cyrodillians ) , of course. However, they are shut out from the player.

 Sorry, OP. I know I'm contributing to dragging your thread through the muck.

Disclaimer - Please note that I only threw the cats under the buss because of K23's avatar. I don't normally single any one race out. Being an Imperial, although I have a Breton name, I equally loathe all the races mentioned earlier .

OT :

I think you need rethink your situation and go with a Breton. The acrobatic, archer assassin type form the trailer? Yea, that's what you want to be.

Why are you forced to go with a ragtop sand scratcher, anyway?

I like to think of the Ra Gada as those on the opposite end of the climate spectrum of the Nords; battle-hardened, fiercely independent humans, well adapted to their lands from hundreds - if not thousands of years of ancestor lineage in similar surroundings. The Ra gada are as fast in combat as the sandstorms of the Alik'r Desert can be blinding. They have been the only race that has been capable of fully taming the might Alik'r, and repelled all other races, man, mer and beast alike upon their arrival on Tamriel, they only set up trade with some of the natives after a joint effort to raze the first iteration of Orsinium.
Unlike the Nords, the Redguards don't need to rouse the rabble around them by yelling a lot like the malcontents they are; when a Redguard means business, they'll step up and put their money where their mouth is.

They are a dignified race to say the least. After the Red Year happened, during the period Potentate Ocato tried to keep the Empire together, Black Marsh and Elsweyr were quick to secede from the Empire. The Aldmeri Dominion was reformed a few years after, meaning the official secede of Summerset Isle and Valenwood from the Empire also. Hammerfell was loyal to the Empire until after the Great War, and after that the sole reason they were renounced by the emperor is because the White-Gold Concordat gave away a huge part of their southern lands to the Aldmeri Dominion.

They managed to fend off the Aldmeri Dominion by themselves, as a single nation after leaving the Empire, for a total of five years. After that they signed a treaty that resulted in the Aldmeri Dominion's complete withdrawal from Hammerfell. This is no small feat, as this is basicly what the Stormcloaks are trying to achieve throughout TESV: Skyrim.
