My PC copy is sent

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 11:26 am

Just want to share.

Heard some of you had some ideas that the PC version could be delayed.

My PC version just got shipped from my store here in Sweden. So.. guess what that means.

Anyway. Good to know that I get to play it at the "night" on release day.

Oh look, another store breaking the street date. Lucky for them Steam prevents PC copies from being played until 11/11/11. Still, I hope Bethesda is taking note, so next release said stores are left in the cold!

Don't care to much. As you said. I cant play in early anyway. But at least I get it to play at 00:00 11.11.11. That is whats matters to me. Didn't need to wait for the damn postman to dump my game in the mail at 14:00 on the Friday at least.

Shipping out copies now is not breaking street date, they send them out early for those that have Release Day Delivery. That way, they get their copy on release day. Next time do a little research before blindly assuming.

That same thing is happening here in Finland, but if I have understand it right the copy will stay on your local post office until the release day. That's only the way to be sure the pre-orderers have their copy at 11.11.11.

Na, it don't work that way. At least not in Sweden. Here the postal service don't care much about street dates. They just ship the things. Not the first time.. I guessing I have in on Thursday.

Where did you guys preorder?
I preordered at amazon.de (Germany) and it just says it the shipping date will likely be the 10th november. I hope not, that the 10th november could mean it doesn't get here soon enough and maybe deliverd at saturday or even worse oO

amazon got rid of their $10 credit for the PC version, so I'm waiting until I can find it for $50 again. Shouldn't take too long.

It would be weird because on pc the game can only be activated on steam at Friday 00:01 am... ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/72850/ ) Do you have anything to proove what your saying plz? Because now i'm worry ><
So, even if we get the game earlier we can't activate it. And have to wait until Friday 00:01am, and that's what i'm gonna do... i hope... i buy a lot of Coke (Coca-Cola)... and buy a lot of chips... 3 days, i'll need like... a lot of... coke... yeah... :whistling:

Not bitter, just saying, retailers should be abiding by the dates set by the developer/publisher, that's all. I can wait 3 days, doesn't bother me, have to work anyway.

PC copies yes, but console editions can be played NOW. That is indeed breaking the street date. In any case, you don't need to ship a game on the 8th, for it to arrive on the 11th, there is after all such a thing as 'next day' delivery.

oh look another person who doesn't know what their talking about :whistling:

shipping =/= receiving

1 day shipping costs a lot more money, most people choose standard 5-7 day shipping

I dont think its a so damn big deal for the developer if the games get to be played one day before official release. Don't gonna hurt anyone. And its not the first time, have been receiving several games days before release.

I have no proofs, but I know it's possible to pay extra in post-office to be sure that the shipment won't arrive before a certain date. I thought they'll be using it if they don't want to break the release date.

About the steam activation I'm wondering is it your local time 00:00 when you can activate the game or are you needed to wait until the time is 00:00 in U.S.A ?

Well, I guess that makes two of us then.

1 day shipping costs a lot more money, most people choose standard 5-7 day shipping

So, you can afford a £30 to £40 game, but one day shipping is too much? Wow, must be hard living off bread crumbs like that!

Lol, the most trusted stores in sweden are Game, Gamestop and Webhallen.... wich i don't think would be ''left in the cold''....

Pity, Game and Gamestop deserve a good slapping for their release antics these days, not to mention the blackmailing of a certain developer (Relic) over the release of Space Marine on Steam in the UK.

Where did you pre-order the game from? I have checked today from Verkkokauppa.com and it says that it's waiting for DVD copies.

I don't expect my pre-order to be shipped any time soon. Never have, never will. I'll end up receiving my copy for 360 probably a week after release. Friday is a stat holiday... then weekend, so nothing will move for me until at least Monday. So yeah... I'll only be playing my Steam release for the first week. The bad part about pre-ordering physical copy online for me.
