Could have b een so much more!

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 2:35 pm

Could you explain that a bit more please? In what way do you want them to add on to each other? Are you talking about making them episodic content as in little pieces of one long story or chain of events? If you are, then you've got the wrong idea about Hearthfire, it's just a house building add-on, nothing else.

what i mean is in future updates add new things to hearthfire (new designs, features(get guards for your house) new lands etc) just basic things

Aaah, I getcha. I doubt it will happen, but I expect it will all depend on if they have any great new ideas, or if they add other new add-on DLC that has content that could be added retroactively.

Hearthfire looks good.. yea I'll buy it, but it seems lazy. We should have been given an expansion that allowed us to become a Jarl and build a city. There are so many small holds and tiny towns already ripe for the picking, rebuild, add to.. start from scratch... etc I'm a little disappointed....

Relax dude, We can sort of play Jarl with our stuart

There is totally a big Dlc coming out or Being announced soon.

Why else would they make this?

Hopefully it is rebuild Winterhold, become jarl or something, and rebuild de city.

Probably why you can't build your house, In winterhold

I feel ya... but think about its only 5 bucks and it gives us what we always wanted ( most of us wanted atleast ) it gives us something more to do until the next big dlc.. Now that they have made the system for the housing and us being able to build/upgrade etc, the chances are that we will get more of this in the future are high.

I don't know, we do actually how our political moments throughout the game. We also get a small role of diplomacy when starting a short-term truce against Alduin. I think being a Jarl would be a good idea, Wage war against the other towns and holds, defend your city, take over the other cities and keep their Jarl under your control or replace them with one of your followers (I think the Dark Brotherhood or Thieves guild would benefit from one of their own having political influence over some cities)

People just don't seem to grasp the concept of this DLC. It would be highly unlikley the entire team has been working on this. Probably a small group did this while the majority of Bethesda is working on the next big DLC and getting Dawnguard to PS3.

It's five dollars.

Think about that.
People seem to only approve of five dollars if they like Subway. The ones who like Quiznose are against this pricing.

I like a five dollar footlong that lets me build a house in a video game, personally.

Indeed, you wouldn't need more than a small handful of people to do this, particularly so considering one guy built the basics of this in a week for the sizzle video.

For $5 this is brilliant. Beth outdid themselves again...doesn't surprise me anymore...shouldn't surprise you either.

Jarls have to work constantly to keep their holds running smoothly. I wouldn't want to be the jarl that "pops in" every now and then to see how things are going. It would take away the experience of actually being in a power position. Bethesda does it with most of their guilds though, so it's actually possible (note: I did not say "likely").

Maybe they will release another similarly priced dlc later on that builds up Winterhold. Little real estate dlc to fill in between the release of the larger expansions

You think we're going to get multiple large expansions? They have to move on at some point.

I'd actually like a wide assortment of small ones that I could purchaswe or decline as I saw fit. It would allow greater scope to customize my Skyrim experience.

i know i wanted it to be like this mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16374
but instead its like this mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18480
but i think bethesda will keep adding the stuff from gamejam. seriously if they built the gamejam stuff in one week we should give a few months to make stuff like that into a huge dlc pack or something

on a side note does hearthfire come with a skeleton butler?

Agreed. Would I want more? Sure(seasonal foliage and holidays comes to mind. Dream come true) But I'm content with what were getting with Hearthfire.
I personally would like to see the chose followers faverites and as a dlc I really would like to see winterhold rebuilt i think that would be a cool dlc and maybe use that as a way to become Jarl of winterhold

Everything could be better. Wishing it were isn't going to make it so though, so I don't see a reason with getting myself upset over the fact that it's small.

I like this idea, though I would also like a few large ones that expand the land mass we can play on.
