It actually sounds like a cool name. Very exotic.

I think Dovahkiin is a cool sounding name, better than a lot of the names I hear, and his generation won't have heard of Skyrim, so it will just sound like a cool foreign name.

It's sad to see that this couple are more concerned about getting free games from bethesda for life than they are about the seriousness of having a child that relies on them to make responsible decisions for him in his young life.

It reminds me of the stupid Aussie couple who named their girl "Tula-Lula does the Hula". I was actually glad when a judge down their made them give her a normal name.

I agree, some people just shouldn't be parents.

That's Awesome. Beats the hell out of steve or bob or justin. Too many normal names. Dohvakiin is great.

"whats your name stand for?"

"Dragonborn"

"whhhhoaaa"

"Normal" names are overrated. They just encourage society to think being different is wrong, and most people are already too good at that. That said, the Ausie parents get special mention for picking a name that's just too bloody long.

People who name their kids after their current fad obsession do certainly show a lack of forethought. Anybody remember the 90s when all the girls had puppies named Simba? I'm looking forward to the aggregate data being published from the next American census. I want to see how many people named their kids Dovahkiin. :D

Dohvakiin is a sweet name. I'd like to called Dohvakiin. For short the kid could go by Dohva or something. And the meaning is real cool. It would work even better if say the family heritage was Scandinavian or something along those lines.

Well it's not like the kids in school will know about Skyrim at that age.

He will just perform the fire breath shout on their sorry asses so they will be sorry if they do

JK , but in all seriousness he will probably adopt a nickname that sounds more... "normal" and go by Danny or David or something

My son's name is Seraphim Alexander (We call him Phim) but he goes by Seraph at school/with friends. He's 12, pretty popular, gets good grades and is as well adjusted as any 12 year old I've ever known.

My ex has a son named Baal (like as in Diablo 2, or the Sumerian God, your choice) and he's fine too.

Everybody gets picked on for something, that's life, it's how you deal with it (and as a parent, how you teach your kids to).
