I am just asking a question,... If I'm even asking a question like this it means I've already played the game too much... Whaddya know... can't wait to see how many more opinions I get on why I even want to know vs a constructive answer to a curious question

I think that effects only armor right? The Ancient Knowledge perk. yeah I think he does have that though... didn't think it made a difference in crafting... still though... his +BSmithing potion is 1/3 of mine? Still doesn't add up

No it affects smithing as well. And there is no reason for all the text size changes.

The +25% for dwarven armor work with ALL armors.
The +15% quicker level up for smithing is a +15 skillpoints to smithing (hidden because of a [censored] up script entry)

Well, it's nice to have a good sword, but who even wants to play with a 200 damage sword? That thing could one-hit an average dragon!
Be grateful with what you have, it's not like you're losing much.

That's ridiculous. Fine, play the game how you want to, but I really don't see how that's any fun.

Does your friend have the
Spoiler
Notched Pickaxe
? That helps with smithing too.

Grasping at straws here, but maybe your friend has a higher one handed skill or more damage perks in the one handed tree?

Nope one handed is 100 for me and not even close for them, no :::Spoiler::: benefit for him.

So the Ancient Knowledge Perk helps you improve items better and it's not just for levelling smithing? Because I didn't have that, but it still doesn't seem to account for the potion difference of almost 100% between my Blacksmith potion and the one they are using...

On XBOX 360 Here.

Of course... only xbox has dawnguard currently.
Sounds like you are upset over the loss of a few damage when it sounds like you are overpowered as anything already .. probably killing most things in 1 hit with that setup.

You are asking a question about DLC related content in the Gen Dis forum. You would get better responses if you asked a mod to move this to the Dawnguard forum.

This. Could also be a different % 1-handed damage bonus enchanted on his gear.

So I found this link earlier discussing the actual damage display being capped....

www DOT uesp DOT net/wiki/Skyrim:Smithing

Look under "item Quality" third bullet point (sorry wouldn't let me post the link, but hopefully it's not too complicated)

Anyone know anything about it...? Or what the actual calculation is?

AND BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT "Font size" (Me being curtious to those reading my actual question) or just "play the game" Jeezzzz ......

Friends and I want to have a pissing contest over armor and weapons ... SOOO WHAT! Productive posts please... not opinions on what is fun to you. I'm genuinley interested in game mechanics/calculations here.

lol Cinco thanks.... I forgot that only xbox had DG...

Ludovicus... no I'm very curious! Because it doesn't make sense unless it is actually just not displaying the correct amount.

and Ignell... Agreed! Somethings not adding up
