Creation Kit Releases in January, After DLC :l

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 9:46 am

is this some kind of coincidence or what, I mean honestly releasing the CK 2 months after Skyrim is a little off. I don't think they are releasing it after the DLC on purpose either...

Um, were has it been stated that there is DLC coming out in January? Did I miss that post or the forums about it?

DLC always comes out a month after release for Bethesda's games

If the DLC is to come out a month after the game, December 11th, then I am wondering something. Wouldn't there be a forum thread about what is being planned for that DLC? I never followed the forums for the other Elder Scrolls games about DLC, but I would figure that they would release some information about the DLC before just releasing it.

Operation Anchorage took two months. We didn't see substantial DLC for Oblivion until at least that amount of time. Bethesda has already said they will not be releasing "horse armor" style DLC again, so we can only assume they'll continue their release cycle of adding substantial quests like was the case for Fallout 3.

I'll bet the CK comes out before we see any DLC. At any rate, you're just wrong.

If there was going to be DLC before January they'd be advertising it by now.

Not sure where the idea came from that DLC will be out before the CK, because there would be advertising, Steam store entries for it, and forum prep would have been done by now.

This is just rumor mongering. There is no proof that DLC is coming out any time before the Creation Kit.

What with the holidays and emergency patch repairs, any planned DLC is likely delayed.

I'll get mad if someone has any concrete proof a DLC is coming out before the CK. Until then, I think I'll live with my slightly simmering irritation.

Hopefully "DLC" will be reserved for Consoles.

I'll be expecting what PCs USED to get. You know. those things called "EXPANSIONS"

If Beth/Zen thinks they'll nickle and dime this user with "DLC", they are terribly, terribly wrong.

I hope others feel the same as I do, and get the message across.

I know right, Knights of the Nine, Point Lookout, Broken Steel, The Pitt, the New Vegas DLCs - all nickle and diming us!

Yep. all at what was it? 20 a clip when released?

See what you people don't know is, the "DLC" (these days) is made right along side of the actual game, it is just with-held from the game. (you will not be told this OFC).

/edit
Meaning, it isn't developed AFTER but DURING the process. It is just WITH-HELD, for the purpose to bilk you. They aren't doing you any favors, other than charging you twice, for what you already paid them to develop.

The DLC, if it was coming out would be quite small. They claimed they were not doing that this time around...though releasing a small DLC for the Holiday season would not be too surprising only the Xbox will see it before the CK gets here anyways if this was true, which it isn't.

Reasons why no DLC...

-They need to focus on patching and fixing the game.

-Focus on getting CK ready.

-Developing he DLC would take some time. They said close to expansion size DLC would be what they are releasing for the most part.

I will laugh if the Xbox gets a small little DLC, like the KoTN or better yet Horse Armor, as the 'first' DLC a month before us...trololo

I have quite a few friends who work in the industry and can assure you that most of the time that is entirely false. And the DLCs mentioned cost no more than $10 each. Compared to an expansion which costs $40 and likely has about four times the playable hours? Seems like a perfectly acceptable deal to me.

$10 Vs $40 for an expansion.

As for your second point, I highly doubt that was the case for any of the Fallout 3 DLC

If they break their "NDA" and tell the truth, ask them what happens. I can assure you, they shouldn't be discussing it with you.

/edit

ask them if there are now team(s) creating "DLC" right along side of the main dev team, which is creating the main title.

So what if they develop it at the same time? Whats the difference? You might as well say that expansion packs should all be free, because they should have spent extra time in development and released it at launch.

Well, It is usually finished. Meaning it doesn't need to be "DLC". Meaning it should ship with the main title on day 1, and not as a "pre-order super extra special bonus" or anything like that.

-and mosts devs will agree, but, the money men gotta make that cash from little susie and little billy.

Why should any of the F3 DLC have shipped with the main game exactly?

Because it's Bethesda's right to ship whatever products they want. In the exact same way they released Shivering Isles, instead of including it with the main game.
