Cross Platform Multiplayer? : Crysis

What do you guys think, could we be able to play PC vs XBOX 360 vs PS3 all online kinda like shadow run (cross platform multiplayer) or will it be like most other games, would you or would you not want to see this?

I can't find the article right off hand but microsoft tried pitting the best console players vs medicore pc players in a cross platform fps atmosphere and what happened to the console players is exactly what pc players have been saying for years.

They were absolutely humiliated. So microsoft clearly decided to drop the whole cross platform fps thing.

true but still It would be pretty fun playing cross platform I think if there was a set of servers dedicated just for that but whatever just thinking out loud... if you know what I saying

I personally do not think that this is going to happen. I believe that gameSpy is involved again if you check www.crytek.com and look at the prices they won, you see the GameSpy logo again.

Or else the dedicated servers get extra CVars to force sys_spec. Might be TO technical to be honest.

I believe a month ago they have said to drop that project or other project is going on what you mentioned.

oh well, I thought it would have been a cool to have some console vs PC battles but seems my dreams have been crushed -_-.

It might help to use a cross platform version for the ps3 and xbox users, atleast they both use controllers

I hope that happens, but it would only be fair if the console players get keyboard and mouse support, which probably will never happen. Also, we would need an option to play on just our own platforms also.

The PC players would destroy the console players, mouse is easier to headshot with. Keyboard and mouse would have to be available for the console users.

This is very true you PC guys will friekin' murder us! Unless of course all of us PS3 guys buy the special mouse aiming controller thingy. R1 and R2 are the left and right mouse buttons while a nunchuck similar to the Wii's (I gag when I say that console's name) house the L1, L2, left joystick, and D-pad. It's pretty cool. Oh and PS3 can do keyboard and mouse as well but the game has to support it first.

I dont know about mouse for 360 support but I know for a fact that a keyboar works becuase I use one to type out messages... I am that lazy, and when I said my dreams were crushed I was just joking it could happen It might not we will just have to wait for a conformation or when the game comes out

and yes the PC would have a big advanage over consoles because of the fact that its just better in my opinion, and using a mouse just feels right compared to a controller, the only thing I like more about a controler is I dont get lost while holding it (I play more 360 than PC) but I get mixed up on the keyboard some times and wonder why im not doing anything and my hands are not where they should be lol 0_0

Pc would dominate, becuz we can just flick the mouse, but console users need to fiddle with the joysticks (lol)

if they gave the consoles a slight aiming helper it could be a bit fairer, but that sounds complicating

It would be great if it could be worked out to run smooth, we have plenty of console players signed in here im sure, and despite early unsettling opinions about whats best, PC/console, that debate seems to have settled down as I hoped it would.

I mean, clearly the idea has potential for many gamers who just like the game, and fair competative fun, if it could be worked out, I reckon that would be sweet.

I don't think many devs even want to try cross platform (PC vs Console) Multiplayer for FPS b/c balancing it is just too difficult, but you never know...

imo pc-console cross platform doesn't work really well because of the gamepad v keybaord/mouse deal. I mean, people have their preferences, but someone playing with kb/mouse has a huge advantage over someone playing with a gamepad (unless there is some form of aiming assist for gamepads only, although idk how they would enforce that...).

well if they did have cross platform support then they would have ps3 and xbox have keyboard and mouse support mabye like people were saying earlier or they would slow the mouse down so you could only turn so fast to make it more balanced.

PC Gamers have a mouse which is way more precise and faster than any controller. So console gamers would get utterly stopmed. Not a good idea.

Wouldnt be fair PC would kill and then aim bots just keep it system only multiplayer
