There's only so many rumors because they blatantly refuse to give us facts.

The reason behind this is likely due to a person not being able to present facts they don't have. I do agree they could be a little more forthcoming, but honestly that's just going to open it up to more rumors. My experience with game forums is that less is generally more.

Don't report until you have stuff set in stone, then you don't have to worry about the community lashing back when false expectations aren't met. Rumors on the other hand are purely false expectations. Can't expect them to want people to expect stuff that they never had any intention of dealing with, or are dealing with differently than what the rumors are presenting. Not having enough info is hardly an excuse for fabricating info.

Then what is the flagship series? You don't hear people saying "But can it run Minecraft / Company of Heroes / STALKER?". When people think of PC gaming, they think of graphics, and by extension, Crysis. Much in the way that Halo is representative of the Xbox; not everyone who has one plays it, but it's highly representative of the platform.

Crysis really isn't that well-known irl, despite most people on forums knowing about it. Not when compared to Blizzard's games or the C&C series. Or the Quakes. Or the Half-Life series. Or Counter-Strike.

They specifically said that they didn't want rumors to be misinforming people looking to come here getting updated. It has nothing to do with excuses or cover-ups, they even gave a statement on it in another thread. Give it some time instead of freaking out about it, and they'll give you the real info.

Rumors are great for off-sites, but not much use in the main support forum. Only info here should be official news and support info. If you want to dabble in rumors, you should do so somewhere else.
