Crytek Deleting Threads? Really?

Post » Mon Jan 31, 2011 4:54 am

So, I've heard that any thread which mentions the DX11 Twitter things gets deleted by Crytek mods. So, that being said:

Really? Are you guys just going to continue acting this immature? First, you release a COMPLETELY BROKEN game. Second, you outright refuse to even discuss any issue relevant to the PC platform. Third, you delete threads which focus on the actual relevant issues.

It doesn't take keen observational skills to tell that you're all acting like five-year-olds who just broke their mother's priceless vase. This is absolutely pathetic.

If you guys want to save face after completely screwing up the release of Crysis 2, you might as well come out and take responsibility for it. Otherwise, you're just going to infuriate the PC fanbase even more, day-by-day. Your oh-so-precious profit might not be affected today, but believe me, any future release of a Crytek game for the PC will be almost completely avoided because of this fiasco.

You might not want to believe it. You might not even care. But it's plain and simple: Crytek, you screwed up worse than any PC developer has ever done before. This is not just a minor event; this is quite possibly the greatest PC gaming disaster in recent years. You might ignore the gorilla in the room, but it's there.

Go ahead and delete this thread or ban me; it'll just completely prove my point. But no matter what you guys do, it won't change this simple point:

Crytek, you (Edit: and / or EA) **** up, and you have to answer for it whether you want to or not.

Edit: Perhaps my wording is a little strong, but this is only because I have a heated opinion regarding this situation. It would be very nice if Crytek does, in fact, give us some answers.

Another American drama thread, These pop up more often than Earthquakes in Japan ( Too Soon? )

There is a perfectly valid reason as to why they are deleting the threads that are mentioning non acurate information relating to DX 11 Progress.

Stop caring so much.

Too soon as thousands of japanese residents are still evacuated because of a failing nuclear powerplant. And japan gives the gaming community so much that I really hope they're able to recover.

It's hard not to care when Crytek is pretty much symbolic of PC gaming. When the flagship series for the entire platform goes down, it's an ominous indicator of where PC gaming is headed. It's not just about Crysis 2, but about the platform itself. Even STALKER is going "multiplatform". Some of us don't want illusory corridor shooters, some of us actually want PC games. And when Crytek, of all developers, goes down the consolization route, it pretty much means that the platform has a murky future.

Also, "American drama thread". I lol'ed. It wouldn't make a difference as to whether or not I live in the US or on some isolated island in the middle of the Pacific, I'd still say the same thing.

Theres most likely a much better reason for them to hopefully recover, rather than in a gaming sence :P

Humour is about taking things past the "line". Just to clear things up, I'm not a hearless person, was just making a point.

True, but you do live in America, and 90% of the threads relating to this, and other drama related rubbish, are by Americans :P, But hey, atleast you can type well.

It's a shame that whenever moderators actually start to moderate their forums, some asshat will scream 'censorship.' heh Actually said we weren't far off from that happening in an earlier post. They specifically said that they didn't want rumors to be misinforming people looking to come here getting updated. It has nothing to do with excuses or cover-ups, they even gave a statement on it in another thread. Give it some time instead of freaking out about it, and they'll give you the real info.

Rumors are great for off-sites, but not much use in the main support forum. Only info here should be official news and support info. If you want to dabble in rumors, you should do so somewhere else. All these nonsense threads are doing is making it harder on users who are actually looking for support. Support threads are getting buried under tons of nonsense threads and keeping the devs from getting useful info.

The reason for the high percentage of threads you claim are occurring here is probably because we got the game a few days ahead of you. But, your statistic has no validity seeing as how no-one keeps track of such irrelevant data. It was drama a few days ago. Now it's just like the frustration of dealing with a child who won't admit that he stole the last cookie. You should've seen my previous thread. All I want now, though, is for Crytek to at least admit that something went wrong. Be it with EA rushing them or their just not caring, it doesn't matter; Crytek has an obligation to at least explain what happened. Their hush-hush policy is causing more problems than it's attempting to solve.

Now, should I start calling you a **** and should you start calling me an Amerifat? No, because this isn't /b/. It's not about retarded stuff like that, but about Crysis 2 and the mess surrounding it. Don't bring something so petty into this.

I'm starting to feel anti-English because of you, I'm not going to lie. I'll agree in that 90% of Americans are... Well, for lack of a better word, retarded. But to assume that everyone that lives in a certain territory created by arbitrary excretions of ink on a piece of paper is the same way is even more retarded.

To have lasted this long in waiting is a testament to the patience of the PC gaming community. What I think everyone really wants now, though, isn't DX11 support or some other feature, but some admittance on Crytek's part that they messed up. What we want are facts, and that Crytek refuses to even give us basic straight answers is immature and highly counter-intuitive. Thus, we're starting to be more angry about Crytek's community contact than their removal of features of the game itself.

As much as the community may want Crytek to admit they messed up, what i think they would rather have is a patch out to fix the game, and then the admitence of messing up :P
