To Crytek: Will there be more keys given to the community?

Post » Mon Aug 09, 2010 8:44 am

We're well aware of how to run a test, and a lot more than 900 keys were sent out to gamesas alone :) I cannot provide full details on the test but in a general sense the scale is quite 'small' as I have mentioned before.

To answer the original question, no, no more keys are being sent out for the technical test of Crysis 2 MP on Xbox 360.
I dont understand it though, I was invited, but havent received a key? Whats up with that?

the signup page does state "you will receive further instructions before the test starts."

it does seem abit misleading, you guys might need to look into changing that

Not everybody that signed up through the invitation email recieved a key, in fact, only a minority recieved anything.

That goes and figures, I guess. So random.

I also got an invite but no code. And I have already pre-ordered the Nano Edition weeks ago. I hope there will be a real beta on PC for people who pre-ordered or those "first wave of signups". but until then: sad faces and tears...

Scenario:
  1. A company sends out invitations (advertise jobs) for people to join their business as an employee (first email).
  2. You then attend the interview to see if you're eligible for the job (click the sign up button).
  3. The business then makes a decision whether or not to hire you (receive the second email or not).

An invitation is nothing more than an invitation. A business advertising a position available does not guarantee you will get the job if you apply for it. Whether or not that invitation guarantees acceptance depends on what's written on the invitation :)

Thank you for registering your interest in the Crysis 2 multiplayer test, we'll be distributing keys soon on a first-come first-served basis.
There really is no explanation for the confusion or for people to feel betrayed, other than they didn't read what was written. It's all there in plain English :)

I will have you know I canceled my preorder and I will never buy any product from your company again. This is BS I signed up for this site then later I get my invite I sign up then theres people who signed up days ago they get their invites.

This is just BS and you are a terrible company for doing this to us.

Not just about what happened but things such as this post here that you just wrote basically a big F U letter.

Hi Recidivism,

Firstly, please let me apologise sincerely for what came across as a nasty reply, which was not my intention. Re-reading that last paragraph which you quoted, it was rude and i do apologise for it.

I posted the scenario to give an alternate example that you could hopefully relate to, explaining how the whole thing played out. It was not at all meant to be patronising or anything other than a helpful example.

As for the quoting of the email blurb, that was merely to show the messages that relate to the topic at hand so that we were all on the same page :)

Regards,
Shin.

To Shinanigans , i will give you a example of what you people at gamesas have done.
its like you send an invitation to people to come to a wedding and join the celebration.
And on arrival of your guests you close the door and tell them to go back home.

THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG, AND IF YOU CANT SEE THAT THEN I CANT HELP YOU !!!

Whoa! What the hell guys, did none of you ever know that this was a limited tech test?

If you didn't get in, it doesn't really matter, if not at all. This is only a small amount, hence why it's called a limited tech test (Even though there was a load of people).

The real thing hasn't began yet, but these people who are testing the game are doing us a job to when we get a chance to play it.

So really guys, if you didn't get in, don't think it's the end of the world. This tech test was specifically for testing the 360 servers, most likely.

So really, to put it in this way, when it's limited, think of it like this; First Come, First Serve.

That is pretty much the way you get into this test, if you're too late, you're too late. There's nothing this community can do about it, not unless Crytek send out more keys.

Im rather happy that all the people complaining wanted to just play the game, I guess they know a good thing when they see one.

although its not like the XP you get will carry over from the test or even from the beta, and you can only play 1 map with a limited amount of weapons, so whats the big deal? more fun to come!

I think the big deal is that a lot of us really want to play the game regardless of how many maps or gamemodes are included in the tests. :D

Pretty cool how I never got a key. First come first serve usually means if you signed up extremely close to the day the website went up (I signed up literally right when it launched), then you should get a key.

Now I'm reading some crap about it being sent out randomly? So what wast the point of first come first serve? I wasted my time waiting for the website to launch and got nothing.

The alpha test on the Xbox360 is different from the beta access that we signed up for here on the website when it was launched.

Talon sort of said everything.

Except the fact that it said you'd have to be an active member in this community to play your role in the beta, which we still haven't heard anything about.

But I do have a feeling something will come, soon. :)

Hi guys,

As per the FAQ: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=5064
I am a member on gamesas but didn’t get an email, how can I apply?
At this point we are not longer accepting additional multiplayer test participants. Stay tuned for other exciting updates! Will more keys be handed out? Surely 'X' amount isn't enough!?
We're well aware of how to run a test, and a lot more than 900 keys were sent out to gamesas alone :) I cannot provide full details on the test but in a general sense the scale is quite 'small' as I have mentioned before.

To answer the original question, no, no more keys are being sent out for the technical test of Crysis 2 MP on Xbox 360.
Please refer any further questions you have regarding the 360 Test to that thread. It's better to have all the answers in one location so that others find the answers more easily too.

Cheers! :)
