To Crytek: Will there be more keys given to the community?

Post » Mon Aug 09, 2010 1:18 am

I am recently saddened like my brethren that we got a email for an invitation to the beta and yet no codes like the others.

I could sit here and whine, groan and even pathetically call out the kids who recently signed up versus me who signed up when this place was a jumpled pile of loading errors and just a homepage. But I am not that kind of person.

So I say to you Crytek, will there be more codes given out?

PS:Also I think its sad that the already a few members with the codes put youtube videos exploiting this multiplayer tests rules.

I agree completely. I was very unhappy when I learned that keys had been given out and I was not included. I am sure I could have made a great contribution to the testing. Especially since I have preordered the game and been active and helpful on the forums.

I have a feeling these numbers are coming in waves. Another fellow board member posted that he'd only seen a max of around 900 people online. You need WAY more than 900-1000 people to beta test. Haha, and like you I was around when this site was just getting a make over and was part of the Gun Club(supposedly another way to get the beta code early) when it first came out.

I do have to say I would absolutely love to play it. Been looking for a new FPS besides Halo/CoD. Seems like Crysis 2 may have my heart. All in all I do think they're coming in waves. Probably just stress testing their servers atm. Having 10-15k people dl'ing the game and playing it at the same time may have dire effects on their servers. Crytek, <3 you! :P

They definitely could of done a better job choosing who got the codes. Like you said people have already put youtube videos up. I'm sure others have also already posted screenshots and I've seen a few people stream it live. One of the people streaming it said that they were going to see if they could quick scope... are you serious? I sincerely hope there is actual feedback and not a bunch of noobs asking for stupid things.

I agree. I dont want Crysiswarfare 2. But I know that Crytek UK knows we know whats balanced and equal and clean while still providing a fun and new experience. What buys me in is the 12 maps. That already shows me that Crytek UK are packing it to be a big feature on the game.

To me Crysis 2 is going to be Single Player and Multiplayer FPS experience, something no one, not even the giants Bungie and Treyarch have shown yet.

To me Crytek wants to create 2 great parts then put it together with the same feel and the same engine.

Crytek I ask you to not listen to the group of people till you pick the other corners of your community. Or God Help me, the Multiplayer may become a Beta like game mode or even worst......

....CrysisWarfare 2.

I have been waiting anxiously for a week and a half for my code. Now I don't get one.

Crytek, spare some of us the anxiety and tell us: Is there any chance of the ones who didn't yet recieve a code to get one?

Hi guys,

Please refer to the FAQ: http://www.gamesas.com/news/crysis_2/the-crysis-2-multiplayer-tech-test-faq

I am a member on gamesas but didn’t get an email, how can I apply?
At this point we are not longer accepting additional multiplayer test participants. Stay tuned for other exciting updates!

Whilst i'm sure Crytek would love to have every one of you participating and playing the game, there needs to be a level of organisation and control in order to make this test a successful one which means seats need to be limited.

As always, any news about any further tests you'll be sure to hear about right here!

Cheers.

I think you misunderstood the question. We are asking if there will be any more waves of codes to people that have already gotten invitations, as this is not covered in any post or FAQ page that is on here...

Ah ok, sorry guys, i thought you were referring to a whole new set of invites.

I'm unsure what the current status is on the keys and whether or not they've all been sent out. I can understand the frustration/anxiety with checking your inbox every 10 minutes to see if a key has arrived yet so i'll try and get an answer for you guys ASAP but please be patient :)

Cheers.

Not everybody that signed up got a key, only a random minority.

They should just do a proper survey next time.

900 people is nowhere along the lines of a real dedicated stress-test. Around 10,000 people are needed to fully test the game's servers. Crytek should distribute more keys because 900 is simply too little.

This.

You would think that there going to wait till this upcoming week to tell us about this tho.

I have a feeling that a real beta will be appear with PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions tho.

We're well aware of how to run a test, and a lot more than 900 keys were sent out to gamesas alone :) I cannot provide full details on the test but in a general sense the scale is quite 'small' as I have mentioned before.

To answer the original question, no, no more keys are being sent out for the technical test of Crysis 2 MP on Xbox 360.
