How is this different from a vending machine?

Until they have to start stuffing their cupcakes with preservatives because they sit in the machine for days at a time in an unsealed cardboard box.
I dunno about that. It looks like it might in fact be part of a shop/bakery.

That's a vending machine, not an Automated Teller Machine. And no, I value freshness.

I watched this earlier and it's linked to Sprinkles bakery. As I understand it the cupcakes are baked fresh each day and put into the vender. So those are the same freshness as the ones you'd buy at the counter.

It's sad to think Americans are beginning to be known as a fat country. I'm american and I'm not fat.

I am American, that's why every time something like this comes out it makes me sad. It's an embarrassment.

I'd love to use it, as long as they were fresh.

Yes. Sprinkles is a high-end bakery in Beverly Hills, Calif. The ATM is part of their store, in response to their customers wishing the store had longer hours. This is not a nationwide instant-cupcake-machine deal. At least not yet. I'm sure someone will try to turn it into one, eventually.

As to whether I'd use such a device - from a bakery shop, sure, why not. From a machine in front of 7-11 or a gas station? Probably not.

Oh man, that thing is so cool. I loved the part where you could see the little arm grabbing your cupcake. I am mesmerized.

The cake is a lie and it's probably overpriced.

Don't do that please - either report the thread if you think there is a problem, or just post on topic.

As for the cupcake vending machine - pretty cool and fun. If I was somewhere and saw that, I would totally be tempted to try it. Haven't some of you ever heard of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automat They can stock the machine daily, or multiple times a day. Pretty fun idea.

Yup. They're called FEBO, and we have them on almost every corner :)
