OOPS! I've been jumping around from thread to thread and I forgot where I was... Sorry about that. Yes, humanity is more rare however it's not essential. Also the benefits max out at 10 humanity. I won't argue that it does not increase, but spending crystals to go past 10 is unnecessary. Unless, of course, you're seeking out all the pyromancy spells. It also comes down to if you play online or not, which I do not.

Got to explore the swamp a little, seen the waterwheel thing. Went up it, and blow gun guys. *sigh* I dispatched one, but had to head back. He managed to poison me. I did explore around the left half. Seen the winding tree root thing, didn't go up. Will look into it later. So the other half I now have to look at.

Luckily those blowdart snipers don't respawn once killed. I always go into Blighttown with plenty of blooming purple moss clump and my spider shield. I tend to take the shortcut and just ignore them on my way down, although you'll need to deal with them if you want that firekeeper's soul.

Glad to hear you're hanging in there!! Once you get up the elevator, it leads to valley of drakes. From there, you can get to the ruins of new londo and back to firelink. It makes trips MUCH faster, but the elevator itself can be dangerous. Be sure to time getting off properly.

I seriously doubt I would've been able to complete this game without some help.

Well, I probably could have, but I doubt that I would've cared to.

I'm not really having any problems finding where to go, it's just really long and slow. About it. Just those damn mosquitoes, which I still hold that they should fix so your guy can hit them more reliably. It was a very cheap mechanic to use something so gimmicky. Still one dumb enemy in an otherwise good zone isn't going to break the whole game for me. The lag might be another thing though.

It's a double edge sword. Boss fights can be more difficult, but I've never been invaded either. In the end I'd think that playing offline makes the game easier, but most people seem to disagree with me. Suits my ego just fine

That's a difficult question, fought with spoilers. To answer your question spoiler-free, he's both.

He looked extremely badass in the intro while throwing those "sun" bolts at those dragons.

OH, there's no question here - he's defiantly a bad ass. Also, if you play your cards right and work REALLY hard you can get his lighting bolt spell and it's EPIC. It's called "sunlight spear" and it's about one of the last items you will be able to obtain.

Gwyn, the Witch of Izalith, and Nito are, you could say, this universe's equivalents to gods. Seath...no, he's a dragon who was born with deformities you could say, though it's unknown how much power he had in comparison to them, particularly since the source of his is different from theirs. As for the pygmy...well, let's just say he/she/it/whatever is by far the most mysterious element in the, plot, but possibly also the most important.

A lot of things about the world of Dark Souls are deliberately left vague...which is partially what makes it so fascinating.
