[WIPz/BETA] DarNified UI F3

Post » Tue Aug 18, 2009 5:55 am

I removed the green, as I intended the colors to be warning colors. To get them back, open duiUtilFunc.xml, and edit lines 125-127:

<_HUDDC_red_1> 0 </_HUDDC_red_1>		<!-- Custom HUD color -->	 <_HUDDC_green_1> 150 </_HUDDC_green_1>	 <_HUDDC_blue_1> 0 </_HUDDC_blue_1>

Perfect. Thanks!

That's strange. Did you use FOMM to install?

Yes, I did

Does it matter what I have Fallout patched to? I only patched my game to 1.1.0.35, as I'm not using Live or any DLC.

If you went for 1,1,035, go all the way for 1.4.

Hm, I don't know. I've only tested this with 1.4.0.6, but I can't think of a good reason for this not to work with 1.1.0.35. Try patching up and let me know if it works.

Well, after installing FOSE my PipBoy map is monochromatic... UI is great but I like my color map as well. Is there a way to avoid this problem?

Edit: NVM, solved.

What was the problem?

The PipBoy color was set to green... Apparently, when set to green the map will remain monochromatic no matter what... However, when I changed PipBoy color to white my map got its colors back :).

I could swear I copied your fonts settings, apparently, though, I didn't :) It's better now but still not 100% fixed.

I'm also having this clipping. It doesn't clip when I tried out the other fonts available (even the bigger ones), but I like this one the best. What could it be that's causing the clipping for this font?

Is there a way to add a fade in of how much XP you gain when you do activities like hacking? Since the XP panel is hidden during these activities, you can't see until you exit the activity.

Fantastic work DarN, i just can't play without your UI anymore :goodjob:

Yet another feature request, could you make an option to show HP and AP as numbers instead of bars, or possibly both?

I'm using 1.4.0.6, installed with FOMM, using FOSE beta5... and no luck on getting the options screen to pop up. :(

Could it be load order?

Edit: Cancel that... I was trying to click the Fallout Guy's head instead of the blatantly obvious "DUI F3" on the right side.

I just tried after patching my game to 1.4.0.6 and still no DUI menu. All I get is the little clicking sound, but no pop-up.

I'm using 1.4.xx and 1.5.xx, two version fully support DUI with/without FOSE.
so, you need check following things:

1. download DarNified UI F3 "FOMM" version and uncompress to some place (X:\.....\.....\dui_f3a10.fomod)
2. download FOMM and install/place to right sud-dir (Z:\......\Fallout 3\)
3. if you wanna see fully effect, you need download FOSE 1.1beta6 (fose_v1_1_beta6.7z), and uncompress to (Z:\......\Fallout 3\)
4. running FOMM, Package Manager -> Add new -> (X:\.....\.....\dui_f3a10.fomod) -> Activate -> FOMM will ask some question, press "Yes" for all.
5. back to FOMM main screen, left panel will show loading order, make sure "DarNifedUIF3.esp" and "DUIF3Extras.esp" in it.
6. deal with Fallout 3 Archive Invalidation problem, simple using this tool http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944
7. running ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated!.exe , press "Activate", it will allow Fallout 3 game load all of your "modified" texture,meshes......etc
8. running FOSE instead Fallout 3.exe to load game if you wanna see fully effect.
9. load any of savegame, and press "ESC", menu "DUI F3" will appear like screenshot, enjoy

Thanks for the very detailed instructions, but I know how to install mods with FOMM (follow my Fallout Journal link in my sig.), so I had done all but #6, as the "Toggle invalidation" button in FOMM has worked just fine for all my other mods. But I downloaded and ran ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated!.exe, just to be sure.

9. load any of savegame, and press "ESC", menu "DUI F3" will appear like screenshot, enjoy

I get the DUI F3 button, but clicking on it still does absolutely nothing.

Do you have FOSE? As you need it to get that menu to work, I believe.

Yeah, it's really funny. Personally I don't find it at all amusing.

I'm doing everything that I'm supposed to do, have all the correct version of FOSE and have installed the latest patch for Fallout.

My guess is that it's a mod conflict, but I don't have time to chase it down tonight, or it may be a bug that just shows up on some systems.

Pressing the W key on the Wait dialog doesn't seem to make it actually wait. It just seems to make it autosave without doing anything.

Works as it should here.

I figured out what this was. I have the "wait" command bound to "W", so if the Wait dialog is up, and I hit "W" to enact the waiting, it dismisses the dialog rather than does the waiting. I've since bound it to a different key and it works, but can this bug be fixed?

I have only one problem with this UI right now, and it's minor to me: I have my critical chance on screen, but it doesn't ever change from 17%(I have 7 luck), no matter what weapon I use, or what perks I have. Is there a way to check what the players Current Critical Hit chance is, with all perks and weapon multipliers? It'd be a nice touch IMO.

@Arwen

Might be specific issues with your pc, maybe vista or uac or chtulhu is stopping fomm from editing the inis or overwritting the menu xml files.
Have you tried a manual install (that is, 7unziping the mod and installing manually), did you double checked to make sure that the extras esp is loading after dui?.

And who, pray tell, is making a mod to show the critical chance for my current weapon/perk setup? I could care less about my other stats, I just want my critical chance to show the right number on screen.
It's not my characters critical chance, because I have a perk that increases my critical chance(or rather, a trait that increases it at the cost of lowering my damage), and a correct number would take this into account, would it not? It looks like it's just something like 10+Getav luck % chance.

@YX33A
Problem is that there is apparently no way to find out modifications given by conditional bonuses from perks (and more than one permanent bonus, specially those that come from entry points instead of directly modifying a value).

Thus, the value from most perks can't be retrieved unless you hardcode them.

HugePinball was working on an item details sumthin sumthin, should be able to give weapon's base critical chance. (which also gets lowered by durability)

You can always open up the console and put in "player.getav critchance". If it's the same as what the UI is showing you, then it's working right.
