December 21st

Post » Sat Sep 15, 2012 9:28 am

So December 21st is just around the corner only 97 days which many believe will be the end of the world. I do not believe this is the case I am pretty curious on what all the people who have prepared for this day to be there last day on earth will do when December the 22nd comes. Anybody have any thoughts? I think its going to be a [censored] show.

I wait for it eagerly, to be celebrated as the day people stop talking about 2012.

Where do you get the idea that many believe the world is actually going to end Dec. 21. I mean sure many Mayans may have thought that but they are kind of irrelevent.

I said many not the majority. Just look a the show doomsday preppers on the discovery channel. I cant believe how many people are so paranoid about this doomsday scenario based on a calendar

Before people make the "hurr durr, it iz not decmbutr 21st al ovr da wurld dumbiezz" argument, I'd like to point this out:

According to the myth, the world is supposed to end on December 21st, 2012 when that moment in time reaches the prime meridian. But people are a bit clouded in this thought, they think it will immediately end, just like that. If it does happen, I'm sure there will be a bit of a build up and December 21st is simply the day marking the beginning of the end. The world could crumble entirely in perhaps two weeks after the fact. So, if the world doesn't end right on the dot of December 21st, don't get all excited posting "Lol, you guys are stupid". Wait a bit, let's see if anything happens.

I of course do not believe the world will end on the 21st (or begin to end on the 21st). But if it does, then I guess the believers can feel free to say they told me so.

I'm not really scared. I don't think it'll end either. I don't care what Mayans thought, I'm not Mayan. If my faith said it'd end on the 21st, or hard scientific evidence maybe I'd take it more seriously.

I am not looking forward to the news on the 22nd of December. I smell mass riots, a few suicides and some looting and burning. Yay.

Oh an "End of the World" type thing :meh: . Know what if the world ends it's going to end and there's nothing nobody can do to stop it. I mean even if the poop hit the fan it'll be over in a blink of an eye and possibly painless----just like going to sleep. So I say {Beep} it I had a decent life .

Well, that joy will be short lived, as the next doomsday prediction will be coming along very soon :hehe:

Growing up in a fundamentalist environment, and then in the past 4 years being subjected to a great deal of cult information, I am very, very used to the world being about to end.

I think it's absolutely hilarious.

I expect the day will come and go, and all the fruitcakes out there will come up with a new date for the end of the world.

Maybe some of the fruitiest fruitcakes will kill themselves / others... but aside from that, it'll be an uneventful day.

I'm actually really worried about December 21st. Not because I think the world's going to end, but because that's the day when people are going to gloat about how they were right all along. Because you need to be pretty smart not to assume the world is going to end for no logical reason.

This is what has been making me nervous about it as well, and I felt that way before 2012 even came around simply because of how much it's been brought up. I never cared about it myself though, and when December comes around I'll just be going about my business like I always do.. I don't actually watch the news anymore (unless one of my relatives tells me something) but I'm hoping that time will move fast when we approach the end of the year.

Yeah I'm pretty worried about December 21st too, because all of the people who do believe the world is going to end are going to be committing suicide, rioting, or just generally wreaking havok and scaring people for no reason.

At the risk of sounding like an [censored], that means more jobs for the sane and rational.
