Delphine in giant inn doesn'd die!

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 6:49 am

Please i'd like some help on this.

I stole a glass of wine at the giant sleep inn and delphine and Orgnar attacked me. I'm able to kill Orgnar, but Delphine just doesn't die and keeps attacking me. I hit her until her health was zero but she lays down then lives again after a few seconds and keeps attacking me. I can't walk anymore nearby because she keeps attacking me. Could anyone tell me why she doesn't die? What should I do?

Thanks a lot!

Because she is essential. Sheathe your weapon and she should accept your yield.

Hello
You shouldn't try to kill one of the most important character of the game. Be gentle with her.

Lol if you play through the game you'll find out she's rather important like most other essential NPC's.

Unless if you join the blades I don't seem why Delphine would be an essential part to the game. Shes a bossy woman who thinks she runs the show.

I hope someone makes a mod where you're able to kill this woman because she pisses me off, especially ordering me to kill Paarthurnax because of his past history. If she wants him dead then why she take her ass over there and do it her own damn self?

Thank you! But the thing is, i'm not trying to kill her, she's the one attacking me because i stole a bottle of wine. How do I make her stop exactly?

Are you on PC? Console command "stopcombat" on her should do the trick.

If you're not...no idea :(

I'm on PS3! What happens is: She kills me, I die and resurrect in front of the giant sleep inn. Than she and Orgnar attack me again, etc etc... I could go back to the save point before i stole the wine, but i'd rather try to fix this...

Since you have a savegame prior to instigating the fight, your problem is basically solved. They won't stop attacking you.

Also, try heading straight for whiterun and go tell a guard what you did, then they will leave you alone for good

I dunno about y'all, but it does seem to be a bit of an oversight that essential NPCs can get stuck in an agro loop like this. I'm not sure what the solution could be from a game mechanics standpoint because you can't just have non-essential NPCs ignore your law-breaking, but this isn't the first post by someone who either has to load a far older save or totally restart the game because of a situation not unlike this.

1. Make everybody able to die, or at least the importants ones semi-essential

2. Since he didn't want to kill Delphine, and everyone just got angry because he stole wine, then they should yell at you to put it back and the guards should come.

Doesn't seem that hard to make that little tweak.

#2 - This... It's too easy to inadvertently steal something in Skyrim... One accidental keypress, and you're a thief?

EDIT - #1) Perhaps essential quest NPCs should de-aggro when they are reduced to submission?

Indeed. There's an all-caps sticky on the top of the board telling people to not post spoilers. Yet they still do that. It's almost like people have trouble reading, but it can't be that, can it? [censored]...

Umm... a [censored] ton of essentials are pretty worthless.

And besides, [censored] made me kill the most interesting character in tamriel.

She needs to die.

Hold square to 'yield', put away your weapon.

I would advise to run away, to Windhelm, then talk to a gaurd and pay the fine.
And remember, crime doesn't pay!
