But thinking, if they were to put it in the game, what caliber should it be? The actual gun has been available in quite a few calibers .357 mag, .41 mag, .44 mag, .440 Cor-bon and .50 AE, but implementing the gun into the game I believe they would either go with the .44 Magnum or .50 Caliber (12.7MM)
.357 Magnum seems unlikely cos there are already 4 weapons that use this round, 5 if you count the police pistol from Dead Money
.44 Magnum is a more likely choice because in all the Fo games it's been in was chambered for .44 Magnum, and the game only has 1 pistol (plus it's unique variant) and 1 rifle that uses the .44 Magnum.
.50 (or 12.7MM) would be a plausible choice for the handgun, there is only one .50 caliber handgun in game and this would allow the devs to fictionalize the weapon easier by just calling the handgun the "12.7MM Magnum" or something similar to that.
If taking the .50 (12.7MM route) The Desert Eagle could be used to fill the gap between the Mysterious Magnum and the Ranger Sequoia

Some suggested names and base stats without perks.
Desert Eagle .44 Magnum
Possible fictional names: "Mountain Magnum", "Coyote Auto-Magnum", "Hunting Magnum"
Damage: 39
Spread: .45
Weight: 4.5 lbs
Mag size: 8
HP: 150
Ammo: .44 Magnum
Requirements: Str 5, guns 75
The .44 Desert Eagle would initially have more Dam and Accuracy over the .44 Revolver, but with perks and mods the .44 Mag revolver would surpass the DE in terms of Dam and Health, leaving the DE with accuracy and mag count.
Unique Version
Desert Eagle .50
Possible Fictional Names: "Mountain Magnum .50", "Coyote Super-Magnum", ".50 Hunting Magnum"
Damage: 50
Spread: .35
Weight: 4.5
Mag size: 7
HP: 125
Ammo: 12.7 MM
Requirements: Str 6, Guns 75
The unique Desert Eagle would bridge the gap between .44 Magnum and .45-70 Government revolvers. For balancing concerns the 12.7 MM pistol should be upgraded and be the higher DPS weapon.
The unique DE could also have a flashlight attached to the bottom of the frame with a dirty-rusty chrome finish and named "Ghoul Slayer" as a reference to L4D2
