Devs, Put some kingd of Jumping Height in the Game please

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 4:56 pm

Console commands...

setgs fjumpheightmin x

"x" is the height, I wouldn't go over 500 unless you want to start taking damage, well.. not without typing "player.setavhealth 100000000" first lol
Not only is this not a solution for console users, but this is no solution for something that should be in the game to begin with. In a gameworld where reality is thrown out the window, people want to latch onto the jumping height in Skyrim and say it realistic and Oblivion's jumping was not. I've stated already, and now repeat myself: There is nothing realistic about TES, never has been, there's no reason to latch onto jumping height now, and mention it's realistic when you've got so much that is unrealistic already.

No, it's not a solution for console users, but there are people reading this thread who are using PCs and would like to tweak it to suit their characters gameplay style.. that's why I posted the info. Personally, I'm quite happy with the default jump height.

I'm not entirely sure why you're even throwing the realism card at me, I didn't even mention it in my post. Burn the toast this morning did we?

Sorry, this part wasn't directed at you. Apologies if it came off that way, however, the point still stands, that too many people want to throw realism at you concerning jumping height, while conveniently omitting the fact that nearly everything else in TES and Skyrim are very unrealistic.

I just don't understand why TES players don't stick together. I never play as a necromancer, but if they ditched reanimation, I'd have a problem with that. I always played as an acrobat/thief. So, how am I supposed to play the acrobat in skyrim? A crucial skill has been axed.

It's a shame. People cite realism and that's a lame excuse. According to the TES world, acrobats exist... Realism doesn't play into it at all. If anything, according to TES realism standards, jump height should be much higher for those who are acrobats. Please resurrect this class.
Agreed, I never use two handed weapons other than Archery, I never use alchemy nor magic. But you do not see me protesting saying magic is fake. A jumping height enchantment or jumping height perk for Vampires would be optional. I want them back. I did see things in the update files, But that does not mean they will 100% put them in.

Yes, he did post links to screen captures of those features. Also, I don't see any reason for this acrobatics stuff to not make a comeback through DLC. Those possible new features like that are some of the things that have me kind of hyped for DLC. I just wish it wasn't going to have a guaranteed thirty days exclusivity to XBOX 360, though. :sadvaultboy:

Also, edited after I realized I forgot to include the word "not" in the second sentence, completely changing what I initially meant.
