Dialogue not working in game

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 12:04 pm

My understanding on the 'incidental' or 'random' speech issue is this:

Create a 'new' voice type...just go to the voicetypes, right-click, 'new' and give it an appropriate name. Now your NPCs who use this new voicetype will not say all the incidental stuff. BUT, you can record these yourself also.

This is something I will include when I write this up over the next few days.

Sounds right!

I may be able to try this over the (long) weekend - kinda depends on others / RL! LOL. :)

Would be good to see your write up too. :)

I just found http://www.creationkit.com/Adding_Voice_Intermediate_Tutorial - lol.

Further, to convert .wav to .xwm - basically to make sound files much smaller, use this mod by vikichan - I have not tested it yet though.

With a little planning, all .wav files for voice acting can be made ahead of use and if .wav is used, the linked mod will easily convert the .wav to the much smaller CK friendly .xwm - really good for keeping file size of mod down.

You could even (as far as iI can see) use temporary .wav while making mod then convert - finished - .wav to .xwm and switch the files over - through CK and remembering to redo lip sync. :)
