How will this even work? Will it have all new actors or what? Will it even continue the main story and go into the expanded universe or just something new?

I would not mind seeing some stuff in the expanded universe.

Did George lose his mind?

One has to question this. Especially after he said that he'd stop making the movies.

Perhaps Disney performed a hostile takeover?

Honestly, I don't see how this could turn out any worse than the prequels. The franchise has no place to go but up.

If this means George Lucas won't direct another Star Wars Film I'd say good---let's see if someone else can fix what he messed up. Sorry if I sound bitter but instead of episode VII why not rework the prequels. No more Jar-Jar, Obi-Won plays a bigger part in the first episode and is not a meanie head, Anakin isn't tricked into joining the Dark Side and is also not whiney and emo and lastly----no more sitting on a coutch and that one scene on Tattooine that has a talking Pizza Roll telling me to do bad things.

Think the joke is on Disney since George is cashing out while he can. I'm just personally floored...err, maybe I should say "strangely amused" by this turn of events. What is SW 7 gonna be about? Luke Skywalker with a cane, swinging his lightsaber around?

Only thing I will say about Disney is that they are more credible than some companies like 4Kids who butcher the absolute crap out of stuff. Still remember horror that company inflicted on One Piece and will never forgive them for it.

Well it can't continue the Luke, Leia and Han timeline the actors are to old to do their parts and hiring new actors to take their place isn't going to cut. I'd say do a new SW series based around the Old Republic area (You know way before Palpatine).

Maybe Disney will make Kotor 3.

The good: Star Wars has finally been wrested away from George Lucas.
The bad: Disney Star Wars.
The ugly: The copyright time has just increased.

I prefer to remain pessimistic about reboots, remakes and sequels; it keeps my expectations low which gives the movie more of a chance when I see it.

...They just can't let go of the money that comes with the Star Wars, can they? I really doubt these will be watchable, but we'll see.
