DLC - Will we get to fight the Thalmor?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 9:27 am

I really want to fight the Thalmor, without spoiling anything, if its not in the game, does anyone hope a new war will break out with the thalmor for DLC :D

I do, I would love for it to be set on the east island of summerset isle, or maybe in the jerall mountains. Be pretty epic don't you think to be fighting off the Altmeri diminion?

Yeah they are annoying and need to keep their noses in their buisness. Stupid Altmer....... I would like a DLC with the return of the Dwemer (Dwarves), or a DLC that takes us to Solstheim.

As a Khajiit, I have no problem with the Aldmeri Dominion.

I can tell they will do some Dwarven DLC since they are such a big part of the lore in Skyrim and i have a feeling about going to Hammerfell because NPC's constantly tease you and there is a crysis going on in Hammerfell during Skyrim so i am right!

I hope not. That would be better served for a Summerset Isles game, not a DLC.

The Dwemer are DEAD. And, once again...They are "Dwemer." Not Dwarves, "Dwemer."

The Thalmor are still in Cyrodiil? I thought they were thwarted in the War of the Red Ring (based on a book I read). If not, their province is a ways away, so I can't imagine visiting it.

Hammerfell, on the other hand, would be cool (part of it, at least). Dune seas, wayward pirates and scorpions all sound intriguing. The western Morrowind mainland maybe. A return to Solstheim?

I would like that. As it is I had to pick sides between the Empire (yay unity) and the stormcloaks (yay righteousness) when kicking some elf butt would solve everyones issues. You can't tell me that the Thalmor can't use a good beating.

I hate the Thalmor as well!
The sight of them makes my Nordic warrior`s blood boil :stare:
He makes it his mission to slay any patrol he encounters and release the unfortunate prisoner. Often the prisoner dies in the action though :(

Hmm, why can't we call them dwarves?

Dunmer, not dark elves?
Bosmer, not wood elves?
Get over it, man. You call them dwarves just as you call Dunmer dark elves...

Edit: they also refer to "Dwemer" armor as dwarven armor...

Not a proven fact they are actually dead they just vanished. I havent got skyrim but I bet the Thalmor are real snobs when interacting with them. Yes they need to be driven back to their island and then some.

Well, technically, the dwarves of D&D aren't really dwarves either, they're separate species from humans. A dwarf IS a human.

On Topic: Don't mistake the Altmer for the Aldmeri Dominion. Altmer is a race, each individual having their own agenda. Also, not all Thalmor followers are elves. Just saying.

I'd love to see this for TES 6, but not as an expansion. Expansions are always tiny compared to a full game, and the Aldmeri Dominion deserves a full game to be presented properly. But maybe we'll get to play an Aldmeri plot during an expansion, maybe an Aldmeri cell trying to invade Skyrim or something. That would be cool.

I think we'll see more of Hammerfell, though. It's a great contrast to the Icy north of Skyrim. Or maybe the Orcs of Orsinium. I doubt we'll see much more of Morrowind though, or Cyrodiil.

Because they're not short.

The "___ elves" equivalent for Dwemer is DEEP elves.

It's called a misnomer.

Well, for one..The Dwemer aren't short.

Secondly, I don't call Dunmer "Dark Elves", I call them Dunmer. Same with Bosmer, Altmer, etc.

Because they're not short.
The Dwemer (/dwi?.m?/ dwee-mer) were a fabled lost race of Mer hailing from Dwemereth, the region that is now Morrowind. Their ruins and artifacts are scattered across Tamriel, specifically within Hammerfell (mainly in the mountains of Stros M'Kai), High Rock, and Morrowind. Meric races use the term "Dwemer," which translates to "deep," "deep-counseled," or "secretive" people.[1] They are alternatively known as Dwarves, a term used by Imperials and possibly created by the giants, the Ehlnofey of the Velothi Mountains. They formed free-thinking, yet reclusive elven clans devoted to the secrets of science, engineering, and the arcane.

Quote from UESP.

Whether they are short or not isn't really important.

Edit: Looking at concept art and the undead Dwemer in Morrowind, it actually looks as if they were short, anyway.

Actually it does. They're short to giants and imperials who didn't know any better. If they actually showed up in game, anyone who called them dwarf would get punched in the face.

The dwemer ghosts in Morrowind were as tall as anyone else. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tribunal:Radac_Stungnthumz

I'd definitely like to see a big expansion pack that adds a substantial amount of another province that sees us either fighting Thalmor resistance and perhaps leading a rebellion or aiding the Thalmor and tightening their grip over the region as well as Skyrim.

Yes you are being sarcastic, seriously some one here must be up to date of the lore, last I read it wasn’t a sure thing there were actually dead as a race, but its been a while since i read up on them.

I have been hoping for dwemer dlc for ages some kinda of return or something.

The lore says that they were all taken to become the golden skin of the Numidium, the god that they were trying to create.

This didn't happen to Yagrum, the last living dwarf you meet in Morrowind, because he was in a different dimension at the time.
