Does anyone think they might get it on Thursday?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 2:10 am

The site I order from usually delivers their games a day early. I was wondering is it up to the retailers when they let Skyrim be available to the public or is it up to Bethesda to make sure that every single Skyrim copy in the world can only be available from 00:00:00 11/11/11 in whatever time zone that date happens?

I'm like 80% sure I will get it Thursday before most people do on Friday. I'm working Thursday and Friday evening but I have Saturday off :)

UK btw

I just came home from the local gamestore, he told me he didn't receive it yet, and told me to return tomorrow. So I'm going to get it early, either way Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Some folks on the USA west coast, etc. probably can.

It will take a Steam account to open it for most.

So, It doesn't matter until Steam unlocks the game.

Unless special arrangements were made, my guess is that some of the reviewers did not need steam?

Does Skyrim require online activation? How does one get by that if they happen to get the game early?

I'm still wondering if Gamestop will sell my PC version to me on Thursday since I can only activate it when Steam does. Does anyone work there or have experience with this? Thanks.

On PC you need Steam. And the activation through Steam is only possible from Friday.
Xbox and PS3 are not affected by steam.

Nope. Skyrim is an offline game you can play it on your console even if you dont have internet (which I assume you do :P )

Unless you got PC but im not an expert with steam or whatever

If you're on PC you'll have to wait until it unlocks, even if you get the disk early. Console players can start as soon as they get the game.

Steam isn't needed for consoles. So anyone on console who gets it early are the winners here. Wherever they are in the world.

Some will get it on thursday, because there are some companies who will break the street date. Those that do sell it on Thursday will have broken the street date and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
