As an example.

Modern Warfare 3: Completed single player campaign in four hours AND that includes the time spent reloading after the constant crashing. (Playing on Hardened) All the content is in the multiplayer these days.

Skyrim: 32 hours of play, barely touched the main quest, barely touched the faction quests and I've yet to visit any locations in The Reach, Falkreath, Hjaalmarch and Haafingar. Map Markers I have got on my game map are vastly outnumbered by the true number of locations. Just enjoying the lovely hiking.

how are you doing this? Are you just exploring or doing all the random quests you get first before the main quest?

One way to get more out of the game is to never fast travel anywhere. You will see more and run into quests and locations you would otherwise miss

Well...you'll be hard pressed to find a game with more content the Skyrim, so....
Morrowind. They say Skyrim is by far the biggest game they've ever done, but it seems they have trouble remembering past Fallout 3. It has almost the same number of quests as vanilla Oblivion and has less content in some other areas (more in other areas as well, but overall it's pretty similar). In fact given their increased number of man-hours with the extra people involved (even taking into account the one less year) and the lack of trouble with developing for a brand new system, I don't understand why there isn't more of some things.

On my dark elf I am 32 hours in and have only been to 3 of the Holds and haven't even gotten that Horn yet for the Graybeards. I explore like a boss.

Yes and no.

The gameworld feels like it's stuffed full of content. So many quests to do, so many dungeons to explore. I've no doubt that i'll get hundreds of hours of enjoyment out of the game, especially as I don't fast-travel.

But at the same time, I can't help but feel slightly disappointed by how short some of the questlines seem - particularly factions.

the threads move too quickly and before anyone responded to my first thread it was already on the third page so I created a new one.

I don't really see the point of exploring if quests take you to most of the dungeons anyways and will actually give you a story, objective, and reward

Bethesda is a great developer....but I think they may have their priorities a little screwed up. The focus so much on one thing the forget to add to another.

I am like 40 hours into the game and I feel like I have barely touched anything. Despite already being lvl. 30, I have soooo much left to do.

Same here. I'm leaving the main quests for now. Therew is tons of content.

Depends on how you play the game i guess. Amazing what you find if you don't fast travel.

Well it's up to you. I like to do a mixture. Sometimes I like to just explore a place and get half of the story, so it's a mystery, and then I leave and eventually get a quest and I begin to understand the meaning of what I encountered the first time.

Um...they don't, though. That's the point of exploring.

how do you know you've only done 5% of the rest of the quests? does anyone know roughly how many quests there are anyways?

I don't. It's a rough estimate, seeing as I've only done quests around Whiterun, and not even all of those. So it feels as if I've done about 5% of the (Misc.) quests.

You will see more for sure and the game will be a lot longer but you won't get more quests. Correct me if I'm wrong but the vast majority of quests you get in major cities or towns and not in the villages or rural areas. At least when I want a new quest I go to towns where I haven't really explored and talk to everyone.

Quests definitely do not take you to most of the dungeons. In fact, in a ton of the dungeons you will discover quests once you enter.

Did you go to the Labrynthian (spelling...) already? Hunted the dragon priests?

When I completed the main questline I talked to the greybeard and he said I now can mold my destiny. If I will be remembered as a hero, despised, or forgotten. I don't understand how this is possible I mean how many choices can I actually make to make this possible? I want to be the thane of whiterun but I can't find anymore quests there to let me do it. Can you become thane of every hold?

There are certainly a few in the wild. I've had some encounters with NPCs that have led me to quests and I read a preview that talked about a quest they found after exploring a burnt down shack in the woods. Villages have quests too. I think all of them have at least one, but I could be wrong there, so I won't swear on it.

I don't think I ever encountered dragon priests but the winterhold questline took me to labyrnthian which is one big dungeon but I still felt some questlines like the winterhold one is a little short though good. I've never discovered a new questline inside of a dungeon though

What's a thane? And that basically means the same thing as always, you can be good or evil, do quests or fade into the background or whatever.

most of those are miscellaneous like I convinced a father to let his son explore the world and was given like 50 gold in the little town. I mean it's not like thorough or good quests you find in the wild or little towns. Or are there some?

How much have you played?
I'm 48 hours in and I haven't even finished the big fours quest, hardly done the main quest, and have only done one daedric quest.

What do you consider the big four quests?

I have done the main, college of winterhol, imperial army. And now im working on the companions. I consider all of those big questlines, but i also consider the dark brotherhood and theives guild to be big which would be 6.

the quests arent that long though i wanted to do more in the main quest but it was still good, also the mages guild you could probably finish in about 3 hours..

It depends on how you play. I don't rush the game and don't power level anything. I have 33 hours and haven't completed any of the quest lines. This game is gonna last me forever.

You won't get so many quests but you will find various locations of interest that can lead to other things. There are various villages out in the wilds that have quests though that you need to explore in order to find them

I guess I'm more of an objective based person. I like to rush quests and get things done. I don't see too much point in exploration, I mean quests have led me to a lot of dungeons already and I'm guessing most unexplored places I will eventually find through quests anyways.
