I don't understand the demand for DLC so soon.

Many people who have gotten into this series through Skyrim, as far as I can tell, are used to day one DLC. Before anyone brings out that torch, I am just giving an educated guess. Or uneducated guess. Whichever makes more sense.

Ugh, I hate day 1 dlc, let us play the game first, hell, don't even announce DLC until the game has been out for a few weeks

skyrim was the 1st time i ever heard about the elder scrolls

That's not a bad thing. I hate those people who are like "well, you saw the movies before you read the books, you're not a true fan"

Honestly, you have to hear of the game somewhere, and some of us are not lucky enough to hear about TES during oblivion or morrowind

That people are asking for more content is a good sign in my opinion.

To be fair, some people dont have the attention span long enough to stick with a title like TES over the long term. They have gotten in to the hype surrounding big name releases and get all worked up about it and other titles in the same time frame. That means they then demand new content as they are impatient to "move on" to the "next big thing". There are a lot of TES fans who will stick with Skyrim for the long hall also though, so dont be mistaken that people wont buy the DLC whenever it comes out.

Personally I prefer additional content to come in staggered 6 months releases if the title is a long term prospect. That way you are able to do bigger and better things with the content rather than chuck out silly additions every few weeks that dont add to the games world and overall playstyle.

So do I, but I think plenty of people have gotten used to Skyrim and want something else to whet their appetite

I find it silly. The next ES won't be out for at least 4 years, so why blow your DLC wad so fast. I would much rather have new content released for a good chunk of the games lifespan rather then everything out the door in a year, or less. Maybe I'm just old, and not part of this generation who seem to need instant gratification.

This has nothing to do about the timed exclusives though. I think they svck, but that's capitalism. Don't like it move to a communist country.

Skyrim was launched some 8 months ago so I would hardly say that it's "so fast". Any time from the 26th it is entirely up to Bethesda when they launch Dawnguard for the PC and PS3 users.
