Doom 3 BFG edition Xbox 360 version needs a patch!

....I can't proceed on DooM3 cause the game keep freezing on the same point of Communication level. Showstopping bug,what can i do?

Same here, this is the only gamebreaking thing i've personally encountered, please fix this!

Addition:The leaderboards need to be re-done. They show only points, which stand for nothing. We need to be able to see our kill/death, time played, win/loss, etc.

i know this is xbox version, im a d3 pc player for 8 years and i can say that the bfg edition multiplayer is way worse then the original d3 il admit that original d3 lagged but it was managable on bfg it isnt ,i can play on european servers with 150 ping on the original d3 and im a usa player triing this with bfg its not possible host will always have advantage do to being host ive already posted on the lag with door/lifts/hit detection and i hope these issues are addressed for pc as i am not on xbox 360 but i hope they are addressed for you console players to equal play is needed or the leader boards are worth nothing !

It's awesome that ID software/ Berthesda have released doom 3 BFG on the xbox 360 console! I was looking forward to this game for a long time since I played the original D3 on the first xbox back in the day. I heard there's no co-op mode for the story mode and that's not good man!

MESSAGE to ID Software/ Berthesda: Yo GUYS! please put back the ONLINE & OFFLINE CO-OP mode into the DOOM 3 BFG edition for the xbox 360 console via a patch or something!

The game is brilliant and as I stated earlier in another post, I am truly happy (as with 20 others that I am speaking for) that you guys re-released this game, so that now we can play multiplayer again, since original xbox live version shut down. But there are many things that need to be addressed in a patch that you will be releasing to fix the bug about installing the game anyways, so please consider these!:
  • You can’t map weapons on the d-pad anymore. When you are in a fast paced firefight online, you need to be able to quickly switch weapons, like in the original xbox version. I liked to press up on the d-pad and pull out my rockets, now I have to toggle through 5 weapons with the shoulder button to get to it. By the time I get to it, I’m dead…
  • You can't customize the controls. The main concern for this is that you can't crouch with the left toggle instead of the right. Think about it, you aim with the right toggle, and crouch currently. This throws off your aim when crouching, For example: Many of us like to crouch and aim and shoot quickly, now it is very difficult.
  • The matchmaking system svcks. Who knows if you can fix this, but here is my criticism. In the old original xbox version we had ‘optimatch’, you were able to choose specific rooms that listed: what map, what game type, who the host was, and how many people were in it. Now we just get RANDOMLY thrown in a game. You also were able to host your own game if you wanted, as well as kick unwanted annoying people. We need this back please!
  • Strafe jumping has slowed down. Like many competitive players across your ID software titles, strafe jumping is essential. This version seems to have eliminated almost any momentum attained from strafe jumping. We need this back.
  • We are not able to choose our character color as we could in the earlier version.
  • You are not able to choose what team you want to be on in team death-match. Who wants to play with someone you do not want to?
  • You are not able to adjust any other settings in ranked, such as total time of match, number of frags, etc.
  • The host advantage is ridiculous. You would think that the lag would be less than the original xbox version since this is an old game. You should have been able to compress the data in such a way so that lag would be less, instead it’s almost worse than before.
  • Every weapon that the host uses is significantly stronger than the other not-hosting players…
  • The double barrel shotgun is about ¼ the strength of what it was before. What the heck!
  • The rocket launcher has little to no splash damage anymore, as well as being over ½ weaker. I can send three rockets into a character who has only 100 health and it only brings them down to 30 health. What the heck!?
  • Why not give us the option for more players in each match? I know of many clans who are interested in running tournaments on the xbox 360 version, but it is only capable of doubles currently. It shows that there is room for 4 more players in the player list in matchmaking and the scoreboard in game. So what’s the deal?
  • Where is the co-op? It is pretty sad that the game is without this, this would bring many more people back to the game and buy it JUST for this reason alone. I understand that this is the “PC-port” but some idiot kid can make a mod for coop on the earlier pc version, why can’t you guys?
  • Where is surface and commrec, and the other maps? It can’t be that hard making the old dlc or resurrection of evil maps on the original xbox backwards compatible for the xbox 360 to play on. We don’t need updated graphics even, just the chance to re-live some epic deathmatches on those maps would be great!
  • The framerate stutters when firing the machine gun off-host...
  • The "ping" noise hit detection occurs about 50% of the time off-host. Now noone knows if they are doing any damage to the other player besides the host knowing.
  • The mega-sphere powerup noise is only heard by the host.
  • We are forced to start a match after a 15 second warmup when entering a game. We all miss being able to hit "back button" when ready to start the match.
  • The leaderboards need to be re-done. They show only points, which stand for nothing. We need to be able to see our kill/death, time played, win/loss, etc.
I fully understand tht you guys were trying to give us an exact pc replica, but you have to remember the limitations of controller vs. keyboard. Thus some of these changes are needed. We understand the costs behind having to make adjustments like these, but heck, I wouldn't mind paying whatever in to you guys to get this stuff fixed. Or start up a kick-starter campaign, we will support it.
Please consider these Bethesda/ID software, you have a huge doom 3 xbox community online and we want to be heard!


I'm supporting these points above from Silentmenace! Bring back the online & offline CO-OP Mode and all the good stuff back to the Doom 3 BFG edition xbox360 version! We will support U guys if u just fix these things!

I definitely agree with many of the above points, here's what's top on my list:

Overall MP lag when not host

Delta Lab- only the host can hear the megasphere charging or being picked up

Offhost the hit sounds and red reticle hit detection rarely occur

A server/game list would be amazing but if not, the tourney matchmaking should be defaulted to either 5 kills 10 minutes or 10 kills 10 minutes. The current settings too many player's quit early and no points are awarded.

The current matchmaking TDM settings 10 kills is too few and switching teams is a must

Being able to map buttons/actions. Especially sprinting, jumping and weapons

I'll post more when I have time. This issues occur and should be adressed on ps3 as well

I agree with the points Silent was making above. Lag is bad in this version. I've put in time with the original xbox version and even the PC version. in the BFG edition, whether i'm host or not, some shots do not even register. The rocket is useless. Im using the chaingun or machinegun most of the time, even then if the other player is not right in front of you, you keep missing. I'm pretty accurate with my shots, ask anyone who has played with me. It's these little things that dampen the experience overall.

What would also be wonderful is to have the screen turn a slight red when your being shot, so you know your actually being hit, ofcourse I am sure that was mentioned, everything else above should be fixed too.
Shouldn't need to change anything in campaign though, I haven't noticed any big issues, I beat doom 3 and lost mission and now onto resurrection of evil. I have noticed a few minor door panel bugs on resurrection of evil though, but doesn't screw up gameplay. Overall the campaign is its old kickass self and I am glad you guys brought it back! Just need to work on multiplayer and we all can be good :D. Hell it would be wonderful for coop dlc or something, but I think I would be asking for too much. If this gets patched, then screw halo 4 Ill dedicate my days towards doom 3 multiplayer :D.

After getting my tail handed to me all night by people using weapons that absolutely do not connect unless youre host[ie rockets shotty] I have lost all faith in this series and all series that Bethesda gets their hands on. Its bad that all the people responding to this letter are playing constantly of host trying to remain fair to lesser players and not get used to the overwhelming advantage of actually placing shots. You have ruined the series, i hate that you fed us this crap. We hoped for so much more and you pulled a capcom and cut n pasted a bunch of stuff someone else created without even bothering to do it right. I will tell everyone not to buy doom 4. I will tweet it. I will put it on facebook. I will tell everyone online that I happen to run into in random rooms on other games not to play ur game. Normally, I would hav attempted to spell all this correctlyor fix it pretty, but I have lost all respect for your company and hope that any who read this will follow my lead and destroy your companys name via word of mouth. No Thank You For Crapping On The Greatest Most Influenial To The Shooting Genre Game's Name. I Hope Carmack Sues You. And Just To Be Clear, Half the people in here didnt buy a 360 until the servers were cut and we could no longer play the superior version of this game

I can understand XxW4RG4SMxX's frustration. I do agree with him to an extent that the D3 BFG's Multiplayer community should have gotten a response sooner. I know that Halo 4 just came out this week and that many new D3 BFG comers have already abandoned this game for something NEW and MORE PROMISING. This is only the beginning. Call of Duty BO II will probably take whatever's left of the new D3 Multiplayer community (besides the people like myself who are OG Xbox veterans who still hold on to this game hoping for some kind of title update or patch) It's crazy to think that the game I loved so much back on the original Xbox would be remastered in such a poor fashion. Again, I'm only referring to the multiplayer. Bethesda / ID you guys did an awesome job with the campaign. I'm truly loving every moment of it, but I have to ask WHY WAS THE MULTIPLAYER HALF-ASSED? I know there has to be someone out there among your employees who was suppose to test this part of the game. Why are the hit markers SO OFF? I'm SO TIRED of not being able to kill people with my shotgun off host. A game where I have to compensate for lag 24/7 is NO GAME AT ALL! Whoever declared that as "fun" among your employees needs to be fired or moved to a different project. I'm sorry, I know my words are harsh, but someone's gotta stop sugar coating this [censored]!

Gstaff, I see you have responded to us a few times saying that we hear the fans and your input is much appreciated, but that doesn't mean a DAMN THING ANYMORE! Where is the support? Why are we in the dark about what you guys are thinking about addressing. Where the hell are the rest of the Resurrection of Evil maps the OG Xbox had? Give me Commrec, Surface, Central Processing, and everything else you guys stole from me (I say all of this because I've always been a fan of Doom, until now) At least be honest with us and give us a date of when you hope to release your first Title update or patch. If you guys can't do it, how hard is it to throw together the OG Xbox version of Doom 3's Multiplayer for Xbox 360? If that's the only option for playing the classic multiplayer then I along with many others will pay for this.

Last but not least who is your official representative that will engage with our community on a regular? This [censored] RIGHT HERE IS RIDICULOUS compared to some of the main games on Xbox live like Halo, Call of Duty, Gears of War. I want to be able to email or tweet someone from Bethesda or ID who actually cares about the Doom franchise (The Entire Game: Single Player and Multiplayer).

P.s To think I thought back in August that Rereleasing Doom 3 would GLORIFY the Doom franchise. I was hoping for GameBattles to support the multiplayer and that this game would be the stepping stone for Doom 4 to have MLG support. Boy was I wrong. . . .
