So much hate for Bioware now. Sure, I agree with most of it, but I've had a problem with them since ME2. Then again, I tend to complain about everything.

Seems like I'm going to be one of the few who will reserve judgement.

Make it like Dragon age Origins and add the good stuff from Dragon Age 2?

In all seriousness, I think multiplayer in a Dragon Age game is the one thing that might motivate me to give the series another chance... provided the combat isn't the mindless, button-mashing kind they had in DAII. I would have loved to be able to co-op DA:O. Neverwinter Nights was at heart a multiplayer game (hence, such a dull OC). The lack of multiplayer is actually a fairly recent development in Bioware games.

That said, I have little faith in the DA team to be able to pull it off, given their admitted preference for instant gratification and style over substance.

So in other words, just make it like Origins :P

The best thing they could do for DA3 is to abandon the franchise altogether.

...

Really, though, they've done enough harm.

Ha, I was going to past the same thing. :P

I'm surprised how many people want to see this franchise burn just because of one less then satisfactory sequel. I have faith(I hate that word) in Dragon Age and believe it or not I also have faith(there it is again) in Bioware. I've been saying this nearly every single time someone has had a negative comment about DA2, but I'll say it again:

Dragon Age 2 wasn't actually that bad of a game, it still had great characters, great dialogue and interesting lore. The main problem is that it followed a game of Dragon Age: Origins' calibre and didn't stack up at all. I personally really enjoyed it.
It's not just because the sequel was bad. It's because what made it bad is what Bioware is embracing as its new model for making games, and because the business model and demeanor of the company has become so EA-ified that they are no longer the company that everyone remembers nostalgically. Origins was the last hurrah, Dragon Age RIP... if we're lucky.

Imagine being able to repeatedly mash 20 Awesome Buttons at once! How exhilarating!
You should apply for a job at EA Marketing immediately, you've missed your calling.

I don't really have faith in EA Bioware anymore. The whole Origin thing, the pre-order DLC stacked on top of more DLC, the trend toward streamlining and bad writing.

I actually enjoyed the fighting of DA:2 to DA:O. On Origins you click and your guy does the fighting, this game was built for lazy people (no offense..)
What difficulty setting did you play on? It's more just than clicking and waiting if you play on a higher difficulty.

With this, I'm done with Dragon Age. I'm actually even afraid to allow DA:O to update to the latest version, because I'm not sure what exactly they changed.... I just want to be able to play my single player DA:O game in peace, since EABioware has basically killed the game for me.

So. Sad.

And there we go, the final nail in the coffin. Who wants to bet that you'll have to play multiplayer in order to get the best ending as well as need an online pass and Orgin?

[censored] you EABioware. Anyone who says you havent gone downhill is kidding themselves.

Until now I've had some schadenfreude with this whole EA/Bioware thing. This news has just turned that all into actual disappointment. :cryvaultboy:

Well, good riddance and [censored] off. Is it too soon to refer to the Doctors as Drs Death, now?

No real surprise there. Baldur's Gate style of multiplayer where you can co-op through the story would've been cool (not that I expected that), but I have no interest in arena based PvP/PvE.

I'm just happy that Mass Effect 3 is still a nice game overall (though I have yet to make it to the controversial ending and the DLC stuff is a bit annoying) because I don't think the Dragon Age series will be able to recover from DA2.

Here's hoping they have a new RPG franchise in the works somewhere.

Guys, keep in mind that not only is that "article" ancient, it's just an unsubstantiated rumor, and a lot of it even sounds like BS (Play as a dragon? Yeah right.). Now, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if some crappy multiplayer got shoehorned into the next DA title...but there are plenty of real reasons to declare DA dead for the time being.

You obviously haven't been around the ME3 forum or other fan hangouts. They make the DA2 ****storm look like a friendly tiff. Some of the same reasons people were so bitter about DA2 are replaying themselves with ME3.

DA2 wasn't a "bad" game as far as characters and story goes, but I just couldn't ever finish it. The combat was overdone and repetitive, the game-world was small and recycled, and the sidequests were simple and uninteresting.

I'll keep my eye out for DA3, but it will have to look like something really special for me to consider getting it. The DA2 debacle kind of turned me off from the story and series.

Too me DA2 was a huge dissappointment, it simply felt lazy.

I hope they take more after DA:O in DA3, and generally listen to the OP.
