Azrael008uk on the XBox

Feel free to hire Baldur. Feel free to add me to hire Baldur for free!

Finally killed that Drake to the South of the Shadow Fortress.

That guy used all the cheap tricks in the book.... including having the battle carry on well into the night so that he was harder to see.

Battled from dusk till dawn but finally got him.

Will update the OP when I get home from work today

Beat the game last night,

Spoiler
I was a little disappointed with the "last" battle though there were some cool parts. I am glad they upped the endgame challenge so now even traveling from Cassardis to Gran Soren. I'm  not a fan of the sky being all [censored] up on account I have to travel everywhere with my lantern on now so I'm hoping somewhere along the line that gets fixed.

born2beagator on XBL.

Pawn is a warrior named Boromir around level 50

Yeah I have beat the drake twice. Now I avoid him :P Really, the bosses in this are harder than anything Skyrim had to offer.

Hell, an Ogre in the catacombs was more difficult than Skyrim's dragons put together. Including Al :P

I've said that if Skyrim's gameplay was as detailed as it's world no one would need another game ever again. I'm starting to think this one has the missing half ^_^

The weekend is coming, time to get some fresh air, maybe the ruins of Aernst Castle are a good place to explore.

Uh. Ur-Maul and his merry following of Ur-Bandits?

Aside from Cassardis, The Encampment and Gran Soren, how many other town type places are there?

For an open world game, it's severely lacking in cities. Biggest disappointment I've seen around the net with the game.

I have still put about 50 hours into it just on the base of the combat. Your mistake is you are using skyrim as a measuring stick when it comes to open world. Don't do that. Combat is what makes this game, and I have found the story to not be as bad as they were making it.

What do Drake's tears do? I just spent another grueling 20 minutes killing the Drake in devilfire, and I found a drake's tear. Looks important. Also, what does Dragonforged mean?

BTW, killing the Drake with a melee character is HARD. Thank goodness for Ruinous Sigil

Collecting all the tears from dragonkin (drake, wyrm, wyvern) supposed alters loot tables slightly while you are holding them.

Having a Drake's Tear, Wyrm's Tear and Wyvern's Tear at the same time in your inventory is supposed to affect the item drops of enemies outside the Everfall. Basically makes them drop stuff that would otherwise only be found down in the Everfall unless I am mistaken.

Killing the drake with a melee character can be hard, yeah. I keep a ranged support pawn or two with me to help get it down from the sky or help when trying to fell it to the ground. Once it's lying there stunned you get to unleash the freakin' fury. Seems to get stunned easily enough if you deal enough damage to its heart within a short time. High Frigor does wonders.

I thought I had the hang of it and ventured onwards to the end, confident in my drake and dragon slaying skills.

Spoiler
The dragon is huge! My fighter literally looked and felt like an ant. Plus my main pawn and a support pawn were fighters, with our party only having one mage. The fight took forever.

And I got Julien as my love interest. Don't ask me how I managed to get him when I didn't even speak to the guy once.

Edit:

Spoiler
I'm supposed to duel this withered old fool? Pity is all I feel.

This game has some pretty unnerving stuff that gets implied...but isn't outright told to you.

Spoiler

Zombies with mining tools appearing in an abandoned miner's hut
A lot of the random bandits have disappeared. in Post-game
Two guys in the rest-stop in moonsbit pass vanish. Later, you find a Fell Lord and a Skeleton Sorcerer there post-game.
Skeletons INSIDE the cells in Smuggler's Pass
The unique dragonkin who are confused and don't know what is going on
Phantoms with childlike laughter
Everything the zombies say if you dont engage them right away

No you actually use the scroll and it will disappear but your pawns will gain that knowledge.

If they already have the knowledge to fight that particular enemy you won't be able to use the scroll.

ie if your pawn has two stars for fighting against goblins and you get a rank 1 goblin strategy scroll it won't work.

Is there a way to dismiss your main pawn, after all Assassins do have a skill that boosts their attack damage when playing solo?

I know about throwing them into the sea from on top of a cliff but is there an official way?
