Dragon Riding is pointless. Bethesda, you're a big joke.

There's literally no point in riding a dragon, when you can just call one. They could have invested that time in fixing things that actually need fixing.

Well, we have it, it's there. It's not going away.
Gripe and lash out all you want, it won't solve anything.

Given that inaccessible parts of the world aren't properly rendered anyway, and the view from those areas would be horrible at best, unless Beth were going to re-render the entire Skyrim map I didn't expect dragon riding to be anywhere near as awesome as it might have sounded. I was curious as to how it was going to be implemented to keep us within the limits of the rendered world, though.

Dragon riding was never the point of this DLC and if that was what got you to buy it you aren't a TES fan at all. A dragon IS NOT a horse. They are intelligent creatures not just some pack animal. You don't tame the dragon you just convince it to help you for a time. It fits perfectly in the lore so get over it.

The expansion is great and while I have not got to ride a dragon yet I would prefer anything over the game breaking mess that free roam dragon riding would cause

A 360 would explode if there was completely free, go everywhere dragon riding....

Im not surprised in the slightest, and a bit disappointed -> There are other things they should have spent time on and implemented
They never said anything about it. People assumed it was free roam riding. Get your facts straight

If I can bend a dragons will, then he should go wherever the hell I tell him to go.
Bend Will - "Your Voice bends the very stones to your will. As it gains power, animals, people and even dragons must do your bidding."

There's no point in watching a dragon fly me around a group of people for twenty minutes, when I can just call one to clean up the mess (if any).

It would have been too glitchy if it wasn't computer controlled. It's just a little novelty they added.

You're saying the whole DLC svcks because the Dragon riding svcks? That's like saying Dawnguard svcks because the vampires' eyes are all orange now.

Can we not make up lore excuses as to why they work the way they do? If Beth were capable of making fully-rideable dragons they'd have done so.

Your almost impossible to kill on the back of one. Your now flying. You can throw fireballs down at demoralized enemies from the back of a giant fire breathing lizard. You can also tell him who or what to attack. He doesn't fly away until you land.

I went across skyrim on the back of ohdaviing destroying all the city's I could fast travel too.

Would it have been better to make it just a fast travel option then?

You see this is pretty much what happens when people have their mind set on something they have little to no info about.
Dragonriding would have, at a minimum, seriously mess up/cripple our consoles. The game itself takes up a bunch of processing so freeroaming dragonriding would have left many problems; the rendering, the entering/exiting of cells etc all probably would have been revamped just to try and fit the riding system in.

Plus dragonriding is pretty buggy already. Imagine if we could free roam. I'm surprised my dragon didn't fly backwards.

I paid full for this dlc and I want gamesas to get started on the next great add on you ingrate! Stop whining, accept things foor how they are. I'm happy enough to be abe to hop on a dragon and forge stahlrim. How can you focus so heavily on one thing, force it into a flaw then make this profile to angry rant? I don't understand why you even make the forum account if its just to complain and berate the very community that can help you >.>

Can you just imagine the loading and the lagging and the freezing that can come from all that? You should have known that was not going to happen.

Lol, all PS3 bs aside, it looks like Beth did a solid job with this DLC. Why would anyone pay $20 just to mount dragons?

Who in the hell would spend $20 solely on the ability to ride a dragon, even if it worked as well as our wildest imaginings?
LMAO this is what I want to know.

Even if it was the greatest dragon flight simulation of all time, who would spend $20 on that?

While also a little bumbed, I find being able to command the dragon to attack enemies and being able to see epic scenery fun and enjoyable. but in all this was not even what I was looking forward to at all with this dlc. new landmass, quests items etc came first.

If you only care about riding dragon's you should go buy a Ps3 and get LAIR... To be honest, if you expected anything big out of dragon riding, thats your fault. The amount of work it would take to add dragon riding to what I think would be what you want is a waste of time and probably money. Also, Bethesda's isn't a "joke", they didn't say that dragon riding was going to be "a great experience" or "incredible". They showed it once in a trailer, and maybe had a few short discussions on it. The reason is because its not the main part of this DLC.

If you honestly thought of paying $20 just to ride dragon's in Skyrim and expected it to be free-roam-dragon-riding-goodness then you were awfully mistaken. Next time something like this is happens, don't expect it to beeverything you imagine especially if it's NOT THE POINT OF THE DLC...

You'd be better getting far cry 3. You have full control of the hand gliders in that game.
