Dragon Weapons

Prove it. If your statement were correct we would have a ranged killcam toggle by now.
How much does an Xbox or Ps3 cost? I paid $400 for my current computer three years ago and it runs Skyrim at a visual quality equal to (or better than) either of the consoles.

yes you paid $400 for your computer.... But how much extra have you put into it to upgrade the OS, prevent virusses and upgrade your graphics? Ohh yeah and if u upgraded your graphics card then most likely you needed to buy a new power supply to properly supply power to all the new features so your computer doesnt end up damaging itself... Do not try and tell people that gaming is cheaper on PC than it is on console... You need to either buy a custom computer or upgrade the one you bought from a store for it to run a game like skyrim without being choppy...

I love both the fact people are laughing at the idea of bone weapons in a game that uses glass combat equipment, and the fact that the thread didn't make it 5 posts before someone used the usual "play it on PC" response.
Yeah it's Volcanic Glass.
If they took everyone's advice we would have one of the worst games in history. We would have flying penguins who when caught aflame would explode, killing entire towns in the process. Bethedia looks at the forums, gets a general idea where the feelings of the community are at, and takes it into consideration when they have their meetings and brainstorms.
Don't forget the Nuclear Bombs...
They absolutely do not take our concerns into consideration.
Werewolf's saw hello.

Used or Refurbished Xbox 360 costs 150 usually.

Glass weapons and armor are made out of Volcanic Glass. It's completely different.

sigh..... I would understand if it was diamond, but volcanic glass still wouldnt be very durable. All forms of rapid cooling magma splinter quite easy. thus making it a horrible choice for a armour. Jeeze now im just thinking of a person wearing "Volcanic glass armour" and him being hit and then it splintering and cutting him all up :ermm: what a beautiful image that makes....

...im a casual gamer, i don't play the games that much and it seems silly to buy a $400 PC when id hardly use it?
Well, unless you are posting on this forum via smartphone or school computer, I'm guessing you use your PC often. I would love to own a nice gaming PC and an Xbox but it just isn't in the budget. A modest PC gets me both my web/office/school computer and a gaming platform in one machine. To me, that turns your argument on it's head. I see mine as the cheaper solution.

The PSU in this computer burned up last year so I had to spend $75 there. Otherwise, it's bone stock since the day I bought it. I didn't even have to buy an OS because it was pre-installed and I run AVG anti-virus which is free. More to the point, I could upgrade it if I wanted to and extend it's life by several years.
I'm telling you guys. The argument that PC's are too expensive is just plain false. Owning both a PC and a console... Now that would be too expensive.

Actually, it was a beer bottle to the teeth but your point stands.

I own a Wii, two 360's and a PC that I just spent $500+ to upgrade this past November 2011 for Skyrim.

Here's a breakdown of their usage in percentages.

Wii= 0%
360 (1&2)=2%
PC=98%

Keep in mind I do 85% of my web surfing on my Android smartphone. So, almost all of my gaming is done on my PC. Do O regret buying the consoles? Yup. At least my son gets use out of my one 360.

Lets also reflect why you don't have weapons made of bone... they don't hold an edge very well . Are you going too run around carrying a tooth? Which by the way would only be good for stabbing, its 'edge' is not going to be sharp as steel.

Actually many cultures have made very effective weapons from bone. Alaskan natives use whale bones for example. I'd actually like to see bone weapons in Skyrim too, but they shouldn't have a base damage that's any better than steel weapons, instead they should get a poison or enchantment modifier.

Anyway, don't you think that having a dagger made from a big ass dragon tooth would be awesome?

P.S
You could always have a Dragon sword with a metal blade and a really cool hilt, pommel, and sheath made from dragon parts.

Who said my PC was a nice gaming PC? its ancient it struggles to run flash games i think it would self combust if i tried to run skyrim on it. Call me old fashioned but i find it more comfortable to play games on an actual games console rather then a computer.

Starting a post off with *sigh* is one of the most rude remarks one can make on the forum. It right up there with giving the finger.

A key word in that is "fantasy". Still, take a solid glass object and strike yourself in the head with it and tell us how fragile and non durable it is, that is when you come out of your coma.

Who says my PC is a gaming PC?? Like I said. It cost me $400 and that was awhile ago. This is my whole point: A PC that will run Skyrim is not as expensive as many people seem to believe.
As for calling you old-fashioned, you won't get that from me. My first home video games were played on a Commodore 64.

Fantasy game = fantasy weapons. Have you seen the dragons in the game? Ever see one of those in real life? Skyrim is not reality so why make arguments about how bone or even glass can't make good weapons.

Human bone is unbelievably strong let alone a MYTHICAL dragon's bones. Stop complaining about stupid things. Talking dogs and cat people; nobody seems to get pissy about that.

Not to mention we had Trollbone Armor in Morrowind. so weapons aren't really crazy ideas.

Bashing heavily-armored warriors with bones? No thanks ;)
It would be nice, but I wouldn't care if they were never cared in Skyrim.
what about their scales? most fantasies with dragons say that dragon scales are stronger then steel and the spikes on alduin look like they can do some serious damage if made into a weapon

i think using their teeth tips for arrow tips would be cool or use them for daggers

I agree. I welcome the addition of ANY content, be that weapons, armor or deadly poisoned sweetrolls. One can always choose not to. The thing I have is the looks. They should make them something other than what they have, armorwise, weaponwise they have nothing. All of that should change.

Level Scaling was a response to Morrowind complaints. The game got too easy too quickly.

There's dragon armor but no dragon weapons, is a bit odd but I don't mind, crossbows and spears I'd much prefer!

That's the point I think he is trying to make. If glass doesn't break because it is volcanic and comes from malachite ore , then surelyarmour made from supposedly hard dragon bones should fit perfectly in. What I use with the Dragon Bone armour is the nord hero sword. It fits well with it and I think Bethesda intended it to be used instead of dragon bone weapons.

This is the whole point. In my eyes, in a fantasy, Dragon bone and glass weapons are perfectly viable because we have no idea the strength of them. The glass weapons if you go by real life would be pretty weak as malachite (the ore) is actually a copper carbonate, and copper weapons are very weak when compared to iron and steel. The glass armour in skyrim is also the same colour as malachite in real life. I thought it was a bit strange that they changed the glass from luminous green to a bluey green in Skyrim.
