Dragonbone vs Daedric Armor

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 2:08 am

Some guy posted stats and actually daedric armor is superior to dragonbone:

daedric armor (legendary) 125 armor 50 weight, value 6400, dragonbone armor (legendary) 120, weight 40 value 4250. Daedric boots and gloves have armor 52 while dragonplate has 49. Daedric helmet has 60 and dragon 59.

So? Didn`t developers said dragonbone armor is best in game?

There could be more going on. Such as that Daedric set may have been improved while that's base Dragonbone. Heck, he may be posting the stats for light Dragonbone.

Nope. I don't think they said anything of that nature. We just all assumed it.

@Tate: And dragonbone armor might be able to be enchanted more or something of that nature too.

Improved Smithing and Enchantments are not mentioned. Therefor I do not see what the concern is. Even if base daedric is better than dragonbone slightly.....it's freaking Daedric armor, not leftovers from the Tin Man in the wizard of oz.

There must be a reason to spend a perk to go from Daedric to Dragon other than looks. Why spend a perk to get a worse armour? Maybe it is mainly for light armour? :P

No, no. It`s heavy.
Light version btw seems to be best in light category

Maybe it has some other bonuses, like reducing cooldown on shouts or something like that..

the light part is good to hear. Sometimes a man just doesnt want to run around in glass armor.

Anyone think maybe there's more to the armour classes than just weight and AR now? ;p

Like some armour weighs a LOT more than any other type, for only a small increase in AR, or are easier to improve

Well then why the hell is dragon bone at the top of the perk tree? Shouldn't that mean it's the best?

there is a theory
dragon bones are easier to find than daedra hearts
so developers balanced this by making higher level perk for dragon armor

Doubt this is true. One guy said (and I believe him) that he had fully upgraded orcish armor with heavy perks at 480 AR or 192 without any heavy armor perks (assuming he had them all, I know he maxed juggernaut at least.) I have also heard reports of maxed dragonbone with maxed heavy armor perks being around 800 AR.

I suspsect that the Dragonbone will be better once it is upgraded. The Daedric will boost like 80% and the Dragonbone 100%, making it slightly better....and much lighter. Just a theory anyway...

So?!

Diferent taste and all, i have never liked anything remotely Daedric and i seriously doubt i will this time around!

EDIT: after seeing the Daedric armor from the images above i must say they seem to have improved immensly and look more regal instead 'o plain evil!
