Or a permanent buff received through a quest. I hope there is some kind of reduction to the shout cool down time, but I want to earn it.
Agreed.

It will eventually. If not in this game, then the another. Bethesda love reusing their artifacts and this is one of the most interesting ones. I bet they'll save it for a future game involving the Akaviri.

Eh. Powerful 1-Hand sword which changes from Fire to Frost. Not very useful in Skyrim. (I already NEVER recharge my current weapons).

I'm more into hoping for a weapon like Chrysamere which has a healing/shielding type of magical effect instead of what we basicly already have.

Here's my top ten list of special weapons that i would love to see in this DLC.

1 Skull crusher
2 Maryon's staff
3 Black hands dagger
4 Sunder
5 staff of Hasedoi
6 daedric crescent
7 Ice blade of the monarch
8 Fang of haynekhtnamet
9 spear of bitter mercy
10 Spear of the hunter
+ gravedigger

THAT CRESCENT IS EPIC!

Also, I do not get why some people want strength over style as far as artifacts go. We are so powerfulllate game anyways, wouldnt it be better to just have awesome dull swords instead of boring sharpened ones? :P

You forgot about after 12 kills it absorbs health/magicka.

the main reason i want it back is not because of it's abilities. It's because of it's looks and uniqueness.

It's basically 4 swords in one and it craves after blood. A blood thirsty sword.

Ice Blade of the Monarch needs to make a return. It can freeze people solid. That aniamtion all ready exists in the game.

That'd make it a two-handed Chillrend.

Hopefully the new armors don't simply have a better armor rating then what is currently availble. Stahlrim should have a natural resistance to ice (not enchantment) Bonemold could be resistant to fire.

I doubt Bonemold is even going to surpass stock armors in the game. It'll probably just fall under Glass (Light) and Ebony(Heavy). I wouldn't be surprised if it took advantage of the "Advanced Armors" Perk.

Stalhrim will likely be the strongest base weapons-armor in the game. Surpassing Daedric and Dragonbone. The Caveat might be, that Stahlrim can't benefit from any Smithing perk, meaning Dragonbone, Daedric, Glass and perhaps even Elven would surpass it with proper smithing investments. Of course, I could be wrong there.

I don't mind redundancy in Armor so much, especially the Middle-MidHigh tier. More visual variety is more important than "Making everything distinctly useful" in a game like Elder Scrolls. More reasons to not invest in Smithing perks would be nice too. Stalhrim Weapons, for Example, could be 50% Stronger in base damage than the Dragonbone weapon, and it still wouldn't wind up being the "Best" in DPS for those who did invest.

I wish we had more unique armour in the game, it just feels like oblivion had a lot more and then morrowind a lot more again. Some more random quests with enemies that drop unique armour would be cool. That being said though, I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far in terms of armour and weapons in dragonborn, I really hope there are a bunch of light armours because I never use heavy.

Some clothes that are unique like Sheogorath's set in oblivion would be really neat too.

We need some turtle hermit fighting armor! Man that reference made me feel old lol. If Stalhrim is anything like its Morrowind counterpart it will be quite strong I am just hoping it looks awesome.

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k58/NichtGanz/armor3.png, I'm not sure if it's the light or heavy variant though.

I hope it's called Stalhrim Armor and not Ice Armor(Morrowind) though... I just have a hard time believing I'm wearing "Ice" standing in a Volcano. Probably easier in Skyrim, but still, Eastmarch has Hotsprings!

Less, like, considerably less. I'm only going to count sets that have at least a unique Body, no artifacts in either case.

Base Vanilla Armor in Oblivion.

Fur, Iron, Leather, Steel, Chainmail, Dwarven, Mithril, Orcish, Elven, Ebony, Glass, Daedric, Arena L. Arena H, Blades, Shrouded, Imperial Dragon.

Base Armor in Vanilla Skyrim:

Fur, Hide, Studded, Leather, Elven, Scaled, Glass, Dragonscale, Thieves, Imperial Light, Penitus Oculatus, Stormcloak Officer, Nightingale, Shrouded, Forsworn and Guard*. And that's only the Light Armor.

Iron, Banded Iron, Steel, WolfSteel, Dwarven, SteelPlate, Orcish, Ebony, Daedric, Dragonplate, Blades, Imperial Heavy, Ancient Nordic and Falmer. That's the Heavy list.

*Guard Armor is the Cuirass, which Varies, and the unique Fur boots/Gloves/Helm that guards/stormcloaks wear.

And that settles that.

I didn't realize how big the gap was either until I actually started typing the lists. Skyrim even surpasses Morrowind in base amount, though Morrowind offers considerbly more customization by virtue of it's 11 primary equip slots. (I think 15 if you count accessories)

In an unrelated note, Dragonborn is going to have a hard time topping anything that looks as amazing as [Dawnguard Spoiler] http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/SR-icon-weapon-Dragonbone_Greatsword.png

I think Chrysamere will easily top that, if it comes back.
