Is Dragonborn better than dawnguard

I like DG, but IMO, Dragonborn wins hands down. (even the parts that totally creep me out! lol)

Is DB "more of the same"?

I heard DG was more of the same and wasn't too refreshing. I hope DB is something that can be looked apart from Skyrim and stand on its own. Obviously it isn't big as SI, but I hope it is big in terms of quality and depth.

I agree about dawngaurd having a longer main quest with better story to some regard. but dragonborn feels more like an actual expansion to me. dawngaurd was more like knights of the nine, a story dlc that was pretty good but with 2 new fairly dull areas. soul cairn looked cool but was so empty, same with the vale minus the falmer areas. (the dual dragon fight on the ice was pretty win though) and most all the side quests were radiant and uninteresting. arvak was pretty awesome. dragonborn has a shorter, not as interesting main quest, I don't mean it's bad by any means but it didn't explain much about the characters and ended kind of abruptly but it has sooo much side stuff. many many quests that are all hand made and not radiant and alot of exploration and nostalgia. The main quest should never be the main draw of anything elder scrolls imo and I think dragonborn is well worth it, I would have paid 40 bucks for it.

It is pretty amazing

Main quest is shorter than i would like and it's not very imaginative

But the DLC as a whole is epic

Bethesda can never make a thing better than Shivering Isles in my opinion.. I had a lot of attachment to that Expansion.. I don't know if it was because I never researched a thing on it before buying it or it was the DLC itself.. Unlike the base game of Oblivion, I felt like I was in a world unlike any I have ever witnessed.. As for Skyrim, I didn't really like the environment.. It may be that I live up north in real life so the environments are basically the same.. Bethesda still wrote fun quests at that time aswell, each very memorable.. Also they added in a very big city that was very dynamic..

DB > DG

DB is def worth $20 compared to DG. The main quest can be beaten in about 4-5 hours if you rush but theres a lot more things to do in this dlc.

I thought Dragonborn was better than Shivering isles, and that's saying something.

It's much better than Dawnguard, and I really liked Dawnguard.

My only complaint (Aside from a few minor bugs, but that's to be expected) Is Dragonborn's Solstheim is a little on the small side, in terms of geographical area. The Content density and quality is extremely high though. Because Dragonborn costs the same as Dawnguard, I feel a lot of people may think Dawnguard is overpriced now. (In all honesty, Dawnguard is fairly priced, while Dragonborn is a steal)

They did? Where? ;)

Seriously, first time I got to Windhelm I was like, "wait, is this that SI city?" Anyway, I didn't think so on any of your points as to what made SI "great". In fact, I feel quite the opposite, more like it was very repetitive tedium. And, well, Sheogorath was there, so another huge minus for me.

You know.. I had no idea who Sheogorath was when I was entering this realm.. My introduction to the series was Oblivion.. The reason why SI's city was far better than Windhelm, is because there is much more going on.. There are some bars on the rooves, fun quests and new mechanics found only in this city which Oblivion did not have.. (such as armor crafting)
