Dragonborn: Six Days Left! Discussion: Worst case scenario?

Post » Thu Nov 29, 2012 4:51 pm

Six Days Left! So the topic to discuss today is what is this worst possible thing that could be the DLC. What is the worst case scenario.

Mine:

Solstheim turns out to be the size of Whiterun, and you can kill the main boss in just two seconds, also Dragon Riding turns out to be just another fast travel.

I'm fairly certain that first one won't happen, so no sweat bud! The second point can and will be done and complained about on the forum. The third, I honestly couldn't say.

Worst case scenario: You kill the last boss in 3 hours, with no challenge along the way. And the last boss doesent even have conversation.

Ok, lets see:

- No PC version until 3 June 2013 (10th anniversary of Bloodmoon)
- Dunmer have the Oblivion voices
- Have to finish the Main Quest to start the DLC

That's all I can think of for now.

Worse Case: It's as buggy and glitchy as vanilla Skyrim.

Best Case: It's as good as i've been told.

I just hope that fits my play style.

Will Dragonborn due the Solstheim the same justice that Bloodmoon did the island years ago? I am not looking for Bloodmoon version 2.0, but I want the new expansion to be just as much fun to play as its counterpart.

My main concern would be the fear of a predictable and boring main questline. Nothing else concerns me in the least bit.

Best case: It actually comes out on time for PS3.

Worst case: See Dawnguard and Hearthfire.

As one who plays on the Xbox 360, I sincerely hope that Playstation 3 and PC players are not snubbed this time around.

I feel tremendously sorry for anyone who is a fan of the Elder Scrolls series, bought Skyrim to play on their PS3, and has been muted by corporates at Sony and Bethesda.

Rather than "Skyrim for the Nords!", someone should mod the characters to chant "customer service for PS3 owners!" It may be a bit less catchy, but it cannot continue to be ignored.

Agreed. I am an xbox user and pity some of the other platform users. It's not fair that we get something you don't especially after it was promised in one form or another. Also, the spoilers you guys will have to put up with :(

The dragon riding won't be fast travel. You can see them wielding spells in their release material. It could be on rails, but definitely not fast travel.

Zoom in and you can see - http://cdnstatic.gamesas.com/akqacms/files/tes/screenshots/DragonPeak.jpg

Best case: i can fly so high on my dragon the throat of the world is barely visable
Dragon aspect allows me to fus ro dah stendar vigilants into the sky
solstheim is as big as eastmarch, whiterun hold, and the reach combined.
Perk reset added, new perks, level cap raised to 101
5+ new side quests
Stahlrim armor and weapons much better than dragonbone and deadric and have set effects.
30+ new spells, 5+ new shouts
divorce and remairage added
new features added in facial change in ratway

Worst case: dragon riding is limited with many invisable walls
dragon aspect increased abilities by 10%
solstheim is half the size of the Reach.
No perk reset, no new perks, lvl cap stays the same
No side quests added
Stahlrim and other armors/weapons/items look good but svck in battle

Look at the map of Tamriel. Soulstheim is about as large as Whiterun hold, nothing more.

On top of that, the achivement data from the 1.8 patch suggests there only 30ish locations, making it the same size as ONE hold.

Miraak's Robes = Unobtainable.
Solstheim = The Size of Whiterun (Not the hold). Can only go there once, after completion locked out.
Goldbrand = Lack thereof.
Shouts = No new ones.
Dlc corrupts save files.
Etc.

BTW, I heard Solstheim will be the size of the Reach, though I'm doubtful until more solid evidence.

Hmmm, I can't really think of anything bad. Pretty much everything seems great. I just hope we won't be attacking/killing the same faction of mobs over and over again. It got a bit boring with Draugr and vampires.

Lol Solstheim being the size of a town and getting locked out after the main quest would be a pretty bad scenario haha.
