Cryengine 3 is based DX11. It was confirmed a year ago. So if Crysis is made with Cryengine 3, the question is Sherlock Holmes, where is our DX 11?

If statement is true why have they removed all traces of DX11 marketing from the cryengine 3 site. They sell this engine i'm not sure they would pull it light heartedly there must be a major problem somewhere

Yeah, because dx11 is the new standard for gaming and Cryengine 3 is one of the best game engines to date. So why would not advertise it on the site?

give it 6 months and i think we will see cry engine 3.1 or cryengine 4 LOL

i think there must be a big flaw in the development software somewhere. Obviously something that can't be addressed quickly. Pulling one of the main selling points of something usually spells trouble.

PC-specific graphic features - Features such as DX11 aren't generally featured in console ports because the consoles don't support them. Crysis 2 will feature DX11.

What does this have to do with anything?

it means why would they pull dx11 from cryengine when it will be used in xbox 360-2 amirite?

also "You cannot get Crysis as it is on PC on any console. What you would have to do is compromise the design and the level design..." - Cevat Yerli

Anyone else worried?

yup, the future is already equipped with DX11, so that's why we are all so mad at the moment.

If this is the story I think it is then it's fake anyway (personally I think we'll see it before 2015). The recent Epic DX11 update running on 3 580's (thats approximately your XBox 720 spec right there). But the designer in this story is just a student he has already admitted it was a fake.

It will not be Xbox 720 and will most likely not run Nvidia's specs. I think it will be some cheap low end most profitable piece of sh*t like Microsoft always makes. That's if you can even get a chance to play Crysis xbox, who knows you might get a red ring of death...

XBOX doesnt support DX11... therefore this ported crap doesnt either... apparently it would be too much work to make it a direct PC game .. this game blows and so does XBOX ported games... get this crap off my PC

I never meant what you think I did. What I mean is thats MS's visual target for the next X Box not that it will be a gulftown and 3 580's in a plastic box lmfao. That would be ridiculous and the power supply alone would be bigger than the 360 lols.

I'm coming into this late, but here's my two cents.

While my PC isn't the latest and greatest, I did just get a GTX 570 and have been patiently waiting for Crysis 2 to release, in hope of a nice DirectX 11 game. I got it installed yesterday and played for a couple hours.

The bottom line is that the game looks fantastic regardless of whether DirectX 11 is present or not. Yes, DX11 would improve upon the visuals, but it's absence doesn't exactly take away from the game play experience. I've seen a lot of DX9c games that still look fantastic.

I think all of the whining about wanting money back is crap. First of all, the game cost me $60 or something. Even if you got a refund from EA or whomever, it's not going to send a message to get DX11 in there. Trust me, if it was ready to go, it would've been there.

I imagine it will eventually show up, whether it is in a maintenance release or an expansion pack.

In the meantime, enjoy the game.

By then DX 12 or 13 will be out... So if they wait that long its just going to hurt their market and PC gaming. Take a look at Metro 2033 vs Xbox there is a huge differance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGPrSKG0iUA
I a very upset with the fact that we were promised Directx 11 and we didn't even get it. Look at the faces on Crysis 1 vs Crysis 2 and you can tell A HUGE differance. DX 9 to DX 10 Was a huge leap and DX11 is even huger with tesselation. (sorry if I cant spell) The Stone Giant from nvidia shows how great a game could look. I have a GTX 570 on my 4 year old computer and with tesselation can run trillions of tryangles and still get 90 fps! Its amazing... If you haven't downloaded Stone Giant and have a DX 11 card DO SO! it will show you how a game could look! and get a super high frame rate! Crysis would have to completely redo the game to implement full DX11 and I dont see them EVER doing that. Yes a patch may come but it is not even going to make a huge differance because it wont be like the Stone Giant. to have tesselation in crysis 2 would take a HUGE amount of work and it wont happen when crysis alread released the game. I have not bought this game because of this.
