I'm coming into this late, but here's my two cents.
While my PC isn't the latest and greatest, I did just get a GTX 570 and have been patiently waiting for Crysis 2 to release, in hope of a nice DirectX 11 game. I got it installed yesterday and played for a couple hours.
The bottom line is that the game looks fantastic regardless of whether DirectX 11 is present or not. Yes, DX11 would improve upon the visuals, but it's absence doesn't exactly take away from the game play experience. I've seen a lot of DX9c games that still look fantastic.
I think all of the whining about wanting money back is crap. First of all, the game cost me $60 or something. Even if you got a refund from EA or whomever, it's not going to send a message to get DX11 in there. Trust me, if it was ready to go, it would've been there.
I imagine it will eventually show up, whether it is in a maintenance release or an expansion pack.
In the meantime, enjoy the game.
