Ebony Warrior: More than just a fight?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 5:09 pm

Okay so a lot of us know about this so called Ebony Warrior who is a ridiculously hard man to defeat. When he approaches you however he talks about how there are no more quests for him, no more people to help, no dungeons to clear, and so on. I was just curious about the purpose behind this quest. Is there supposed to be some hidden message or connection between you and the Ebony Warrior? I know it sounds weird and is hard to explain what I mean but if you kind of understand what I'm saying, I just want to hear a few thoughts on this.

He is your clone.

You are actually from a product line of mass produced freak-shows that specialize in killing dragons and saving the world.

Actually I killed him with one backstab.

Not anymore difficult then fighting a skeever.

Normal difficulty and just dragon daggers, not enchanted.

Fight started and I went invisible, went behind him and stabbed. One shot and he was dead.

He's a seasoned warrior just like you (if you get to that high a level to meet him) kind of reminds me of that random encounter with an 'old Orc' who wants to die in battle. I haven't met the Ebony warrior yet and I'm not sure I want to spam levels just to meet him before my time.

Yea he, like most things at 80+, is not a challenge on normal. You gotta try master.

I don't think increasing hp's makes the game harder. Just takes longer to do the same thing.

Doing 3 backstabs as opposed to one isn't my idea of a tough fight.

you probably are using a downloaded gamesave just saying :) i have the best possible gear without cheats and he is still a decent challenge. I used that whole enchanting/smithing/alchemy thing to get highest ratings for weapons and armor.

Not sure what to tell you. I was expecting a tough fight but I dropped him in one hit with no enchanted gear or weapons. I'm wearing a mourners outfit and hat, vampire boots and simple gloves I bought in Solitude. None of it is enchanted and just normal dragon daggers I smithed. No enchants.

Maybe I just got lucky but the guy dropped with one backstab.

I have an op sword with a hit value including enchantments of over 200, i sneaked invisible and hidden behind him hit him with a 6 times sneak attack and was hit with almost a reflective rebound shot which killed me outright and i have maxed armour. Ok that was at master level but that was one weird thing -happened several times that way in close combat-soon as i hit him i was killed and that was without him using his shouts or drain shouts,,,,,,,,,,so he is easy to kill is he? dont make me laugh you are talking BS it took me a long time to get him with a combo of shouts and ranged high value arrows with Auriels bow, must have been 30 arrows before i got his health right down.

Kind of like an easter egg of yourself at level 80+, you've done all the quests, you been in all the dungeons, etc.

It would be funny if he was the Dragonborn from the Future, or the Hero of Kvatch.
He's just comming to see you to stop you making the same mistakes he did, or something cheesy like that.

I think he has damage reflect, so you may be killing yourself.

When I killed him, he had some weird Ebony Gear. Nothing special really, but I can't recall him having a Reflect Damage Enchantment or anything.

It could be scripted. I remember an earlier thread discussing it... Ah well.

Do you think anyone cares? And we know you lie and troll here! Maybe you can kill him backstap easy difficult. But try it it on master difficult you cant exactly. And noobs basicly backstaps challenged fighters. Or you have similiar bug with enemys health (had this few times) example you can kill legendary dragon few hits. Try him again master difficult after that come tell us did you lie or did you have bug! These are only options here bug or lie.

Could be, because I didn't use any Weapons against him, only Magic. Someone should make a save before fighting him, and check this out.

But yeah, I've never made a "Back Stabbin'" character. Although, on Master difficulty, even with a few Back Stabs, I bet the Ebony Warrior will still be kicking.
He's ridiculously powerful, expecially while I'm in Telvanni Robes, Superior Vampire Gauntlets/Gloves and Superior Vampire Boots.
Every single swing at me felt like it was going to be the last. Neloth taught me well though, and the "Wind and Sand" knowledge he shared with me helped me Prevail.
