Ebony Warrior + Sovngarde

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 7:41 am

Just a quick warning: this thread also contains spoilers to the Skyrim main quest as well as the Civil war.

Hi guys, even though I have the PC version of Skyrim and obviously haven't played Dragonborn yet I was wondering if anyone knew whether after killing the Ebony warrior actually sends him to Sovngarde, for example if you side with the Imperial legion in the Civil war and kill Ulfric you can see him again during the main quest of Skyrim when you go to Sovngarde, this also occurs for other certain characters, but do you see the Ebony warrior in Sovngarde as well?

Haha after all those threads asking why a Redguard would go to Sovngarde, turns out he only thought he could.

Thanks guys :)

yeah... actually when you think about it, the ebony warrior is just one big plot hole. He's not a nord so he can't go to Sovngarde and he says that he's done every quest and yet all I have to do is press Start and see that that isn't the case.. i have plenty of quests he can do and there are more throughout skyrim he can get.

Actually, you only go to Sovngarde if you have the spirit of a Nord, not be a Nord. For instance, a Khajiit could enter Sovngarde if they behaved in the typical Nordic way and embodied the Nord way of life. In other words, you have to be a Nord in spirit to enter Sovngarde which is much easier for actual Nords than other races.

He couldn't fit. Being almost 2 feet taller than any of the races mind you. Too much Nord. :o

if that's true then wouldn't there have been at least one person in Sovngarde that wasn't a nord? especially since it isn't odd to find people who were raised by nords/ are part nord.

EDIT: can't find anything that hints at non-nords being able to go to sovngarde under normal cirumstances (death).. everything just says its a nordic afterlife created by a nordic god for nords..

It could just be that they have not worked him into being there, seeing how no patch has come out since DB. So odds are he just isn't there due to that and that alone. I could be wrong though.

Highly possible but, I like the idea that he wanted to and thought he could go to Sovngarde not knowing that it's a place just for Nords.

If it's true that only Nords can go to Sovngarde, it is weird that they gave the Ebony Warrior that dialogue. Is it possible that they intended to use a Nord NPC but somebody made him a Redguard by mistake? Seems like a big oversight if so, but it wouldn't exactly be the first time something like that happened. Mikhail in Whiterun was supposed to be an Imperial according to the book "A Gentleman's Guide to Whiterun", but he's a Nord in-game. Adrianne Avenicci is referred to as a Nord in that same book in spite of her name and the fact that she's an Imperial in-game. Who knows.

Yeah, he's freaking huge. It's like comparing a high elf to a wood elf.

But I've wondered if you could meet him in Sovngarde. Maybe you could have but Alduin ate him D:

Only Nords go to Sovngarde people. I've been saying this for a while. Imperials don't go, redguards don't go, beast races MOST CERTAINLY don't go, no matter how Nordy they are "in spirit". Sorry, people who say otherwise are just wishful thinking. Look up Sovngarde on UESP and the Imperial Library. Everything suggests only Nords reach Sovngarde through natural death. Anyone else who got there forced their way in.

Don't blame me, blame Shor. I'm just the messenger.

UESP is known to be unreputable in most aspects. But I agree, and hence me checking once I killed him when DB released just to make sure. Made no sense as to why he thought that.
