Elven Supremacy

Post » Sat Sep 14, 2013 12:31 pm

I thought I heard that the Snow Elves started the war with the Nords first, after the Nords started encroaching on their lands. Anyways, they obviously didn't kill -all- of them off, as we know from DLC.

Anyways, what happened to the Dunmer between Oblivion and Skyrim is that the Argonians invaded Dunmer lands and destroyed much of their kingdom and cities/villages. Only a fraction of their lands is left after that, as it's still in Argonian hands. I guess the lizards were still bitter for the whole slavery thing.

Where is the "a lot but not enough" option for the first question? /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

I do like the Bosmers the most of all mers but we all know that the Altmers are the master race

and thats right for those daedra/false god worshipping tribal bastards, they aren't even worthy of the name "mer" i suggest that we start calling the darkelves dun-nedes instead

Exactly, Mer refer themselves as mer, whilst the humans will easily overlook that and call them Elves instead. I wonder why I titled it that.. maybe it has something to do with my feelings towards the altmer XD.

I would think the Altmer resemble the Nazis, the Nords are xenophobic, they don't trust what they don't know, especially magic. Since many elves are attuned to magic, and because the Altmer took over their beloved empire the reasons for their hate and distrust is obvious. They aren't trying to create some perfect pure-blooded race by exterminating everyone else, they just hate who they don't know.

What you think a volcano erupting is divine punishment? That's such an old way of thinking.. of course if a daedric prince somehow set it off in anger.. then we're onto something. But volcano erupting = horrible race? That's really bad logic..

Way too much of a good thing is still a good thing right? So vote for that one even though it's biased XD.

When a volcano (and Argonians) destroys your homeland - then you can make that comment.

On topic - Altmer tend to look down on the men of Tamriel - mainly because of the esteem Lorkhan holds in their religions. If the Altmer in general are as repectful to men as this "Queen Ayreen" then they've missed a trick. It needs to be in to an irritating level.

Technically, Lie Rock falling could be interpreted as Divine Punishment from any number of sources, spanning the distance between Vehk and Sheogorath with a stop over at Azura for good measure. That is, after all, what triggered the eruption during the Red Year.

Is there ANY faction in TESO lore that does not think itself superior?

Seriously, whats wrong with the people of Tamriel???. Its just like... oh ...yeah.. the real world...

So yeah it's certainly possible for it to happen that way, but how in the world does one or two eccentric (probably the norm for all princes) daedric princes determine whether or not a race is superior to another?

Nah only the old farts think that way nowadays. The newer generations are awesome, even if they're spoiled and lazy.. like me >.<.

There's certainly something wrong with the people of Tamriel though.. where's the extremely pacifistic peaceful race to balance it? My guess is the bosmer are going to be the most peaceful nature of the races, followed by the bretons and the redguards. Everyone else is pretty bloodthirsty though.

Many hardships fell upon the Dunmer but I still saw that.. pride.. that they have, in Skyrim. They were living in slums but they made the most out of their situations and didn't take abuse from the Nords just lieing down. But, this game takes place before all those hardships so I can't wait to go see Silt Striders. I never saw them in a game before. Too bad that's an animal we'll probably never get as a mount.

The Bosmer are literally hunter cannibals, though. I think you're underestimating exactly how much conflict and bloodshed define TES.

To be fair, I think the Bosmer cannibalism is more of a special occasion. They are huge carnivores from my understanding though.

Where have you been? The Altmer -are- racist. They want to rule over all the other races because they feel they know better.

And also because they want to destroy all creation and return to an earlier time of thought-as-being, because they feel imprisoned in mortal shells.

Well, they also view everything else as absolutely lesser and inferior to themselves, which I would say IS fairly racist. Not unique in the world of Tamriel, by any means, though. Also, we're talking about a breed of elves in a fantasy game here, no need to take any comments personally.

No, it's the whole thinking they're superior and wanting to destroy all of Tamriel and the species that lives in it that makes them racist.

supremacist movement will be the most visible from Altmeri [ who are racists with good reason - I would say it would be very wrong if they were not ]
I find first question of your poll to be biased ( second a little bit too "unhealthy" ): pointed against supremacy ( unless you view Mer supremacy as inherently bad - then it limits supremacy supporters - but of course, it is your poll and your rules )

There are no "Elven Supremacist" humans. There is only the fact of Mer supremacy.

This is what I'm doing. I don't really understand the "why" since I find the lore complicated and hard to follow (but interesting!).
