The design for the .223 pistol is based on Harrison Ford's gun in Blade Runner.

Which was just a tricked out .38 Special.

I say if you want a gun that you want to be in the game at least make it fit in the universe. I would like to see my http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winchester_Model_1897 I know people are going to say it was in World at War, but at least it fits into the game. The ACR on the other had look way to futuristic for the games time period there is no retro look to it so most likely NOT going to be in the game. If you want the gun so bad just buy the computer version and get a mod that allows you to have the gun.

Why can't anyone come with an idea for a weapon that doesn't SOMEHOW relate to Call of Duty?

Realizing, of course, that someone can say 'I'd like to see a Desert Eagle in the game" without it being a reference to CoD (at least for them).

Just because you have CoD on the brain, doesn't mean everyone else does.

(I'll admit, I played the absolute first CoD.... back when it was WW2. First Medal of Honor game, too. Haven't played any other "historical" FPS since. So, if I suggest a gun that happens to be in one of those games, am I pushing CoD guns? Or just "guns"?)

Anytime someone even hints at a weapon that has appeared in a Call Of Duty everyone just assumes your fan boy and automatically assumes that every weapon that has fired a bullet out of a barrel must have been birthed from the Call Of Duty series, This is simply not the case I've been looking at the weapons that were in Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 and I've seen a P90, G11, Desert Eagle, M3 Greasegun, Thompson Sub-Machine Gun, FN FAL, M60, and a slew of other real world weapons that have all appeared in a Call Of Duty at some point in their long lives. (G11 is going to be in Call Of Duty Black Ops)

I would prefer a more generic pump action, something to the tune of the Ithaca and Winchester Pump actions would be great, though

I won't even comment on how down-right [censored] using a non-production prototype in a supposed historical game is.

The Winchester Model 1897 Trench Gun IS a pump-action shotgun; and it gets bonus points for having an optional bayonet!

I know that. I was just commenting on the fact it was a bit to specific of a gun to use in this day and age. Firearm companies get [censored]y about using thier model names these days.(Probably the reason that the Winchester and Glock plasma weapons weren't in FO3)

Ah, okay, hadn't thought of that. Though I don't see why they would want to pass up on free hype and advertisment.

Well that I can see since they're actual guns, albiet airsoft, so they were probably worried about their image being tarnished by actual products. Wouldn't you be annoyed if there were crap products on the market that had your name?

Though this is a computer game with fictional, mostly, guns, I don't see why they would complain. Unless Glock has designs for a plasma pistol stashed somewhere or something, likewise with Winchester.

And didn't CoD use the real life names with their guns?

Most of them, but they were licensed for the most part, so they payed royalties to the company. (Or used a nickname, like the Thumper/M79

Pretty messed up you have to pay royalties for a name in a game....it's not like that with writing novels is it?

Eh, anyway, the topic; I'd like to see the FN FAL in NV, it was only designed in the 50s afterall. Though I have to admit CoD has made me a huge fan of the gun; yes COD, the bane of many people on this forum evidently. :P

With two triggers, and two barrels, and two ammo feeds ~http://www.nma-fallout.com/content.php?page=223-pistol-origins might just have nailed it... It being a Laser/.38 hybrid.

In Fallout it was just a killer one handed rifle.
