Errors when loading Skyrim.esm

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 9:54 am

Hi!

I've just downloaded Creation Kit, launched it and selected Skyrim.esm to load. After few seconds, an error came up:

Warning

MASTERFILE: LOCALIZATION: Lookup failed for ID: 0x00012584 from strings file: STRINGS/Skyrim_ENGLISH.DLSTRINGS

And other messages of same text but different numbers. I have checked and I don't have these files in my installation. I'm using Polish version of the game. I've already checked integrity of the files and Steam says they're ok. The .esm looks all English, so the translation must be in the Skyrim_POLISH.Strings.

Maybe someone form Bethesda will read this, as I don't want to switch to full-English yet.

Edit: typos

Oh, so I'm not the only one?

Goody.

Would certainly like to hear from Bethesda on why it's happening. Oblivion/FO3 never gave me errors.

Same here. I went on with it saying yes to all. Made quite a few modifications to riverwood. (Extended the pier to the other side of the river.) Saved the mod. Booted up Skyrim while running the CK and I get a BSOD. O.o
I have six gigs of ram, what the ****?

Something's not right here.

 What's that supposed to mean? I get a bunch of errors, run the game while the CK runs in the background, literally as skyrim is loading it crashes. My system hasn't had any issues since. The only thing I could think was the app was using an insane amount of memory. Either way haven't had a BSOD before running the CK.

So you're supposed to get a total system crash (BSOD) if you run both at once?

Of course not, but you are running a bethesda game, while modding files. It's like juggling with burning chainsaws while doing a handstand on an oil barrel made out of dynamite.

Just try to run it without the CK open and see if you still get a BSOD, then come back here.

Well, I could run the CS for MW with MW. The CS for OB with OB. So I didn't think it'd be that odd to run the CK for Skyrim with Skyrim.
Having to close it to test things in game will really slow everything down.

Maybe that's not even the problem, but honestly, I'd really check that out before anything else, if it's the problem it's an easy to fix one.

Errors I get upon loading:

1. MASTERFILE: NavmeshInfo 00028e37 has no parent space, ignoring
2. MASTERFILE: Errors were encountered during InitItem for reference:
Base: 'ShipTrapdoor01MinUseHidden' (00061435)
Ref: "(00099315)
Cell: 'Wilderness' (0000967A) (2, -6) in world 'Tamriel' (0000003C)

....

Someone just please tell me it's not some weird region lock again... Poland here as well, and by the way my game is installed in full english on steam.

I get about 5 errors when loading it, and more similar errors if I load some locations in the render window.

And I'm not Polish (but Belgian) so that can't be the problem.

Great job, beteshda. How the hell can you screw this up?!

it's the same as it was with beta patch... lookup failed.
i think the best would be to install english version and keep english string files.
did i mention how i like steam... :(

Thank god it's just an issue then, not a region based bs, then it probably would never get fixed.

I also get these errors and about 7 more, all about (seemingly) random doors. I'm in Britain.

It's normal, don't worry.

Morrowind and Fallout 3's ESM files were absolutely riddled with errors. They're harmless, just the engine complaining over nothing. Just click "Yes to All" and move on :)

Exactly the same errors as REEJ ("MASTERFILE: NavmeshInfo 00028e37 has no parent space, ignoring" then "Base: 'ShipTrapdoor01MinUseHidden' (00061435)" etc.)

And UK here, so doubt it's region/language errors :P

Same error message here, but only with the German version of the game.

I have no mods at the moment, I've validated both Skyrim and the Creation Kit. Trying to follow along with the video tutorials, and there's not even a kettle.
